"THE SURPRISE PACKAGE"
Luke 17:11-19
PUPPETS: Mom & Butch

MOM: Well, Butch, did you have a good birthday?

    BUTCH: I sure did, Mom.

MOM: Did you see that last package for you?

BUTCH: I thought I had opened them all.

MOM: No, there is one more.

    BUTCH: What is it?

MOM: It is a box of thank you cards with stamps.

BUTCH: What am I suppose to do with that?

MOM: Sit down and write each person who gave you a gift and thank them for it.

BUTCH: Oh, Mom. That is a lot of trouble and besides I want to play with the toys.

MOM: Yes, but those people spent time and money on you and you need to thank them.

    BUTCH: Okay, I'll do it.

MOM: Butch, everyday the Lord gives us gifts, too. But so often we're in such a hurry to enjoy them that we neglect to tell Him, thanks.

BUTCH: Mom, you know what I am going to do?

    MOM: No, Butch, what.

BUTCH: I'm going to start with thank you prayers before I ask the Lord for anything. And I'm going to start right now.

MOM: How about you boys and girls? Have you been putting off writing a thank you note to someone? And what about the Lord? Do you owe Him a 'thank you prayer'?

BUTCH: Take time to offer your thanks now. You'll be glad you did. See all you later. Bye now.

MOM: See you boys and girls. Bye.
