PUPPET SCRIPT

By Louise Ferry

"SPIRITUAL WORKOUT"
Hebrews 13:1-8, 15-16
PUPPETS: Mom & Butch

MOM: Butch, I wish you would pay more attention in Church.

BUTCH: Oh, Mom, it is so boring.

MOM: That's what you believe. I saw you trying to pass a note to Sally in Church.

BUTCH: I would rather go exercise with Dad at the "Y" than sit there for an hour.

MOM: Butch, you are old enough to listen and take notes. If you do that, you'd get more out of the sermons.

BUTCH: I really liked it at the "Y" with Dad.

MOM: What was so neat about that.

BUTCH: I worked out on all the equipment. It was really neat. I liked the rowing machine and I had fun lifting weights and I'm looking forward to using the pool.

MOM: Didn't you get tired, I know that Dad was?

BUTCH: Yes, I got tired, but it was so much fun. My muscles are a little sore but I know that working out makes me stronger.

MOM: That's the way I felt last Sunday.

BUTCH: The way you felt last Sunday? Mom, last Sunday you were in Church, you didn't exercise.

MOM: Oh, but I got my spiritual workout, and I needed that.

BUTCH: You needed a spiritual workout?

MOM: Yes and you didn't get one.

BUTCH: But I was in church with you.

MOM: That's what I mean. You just sit there in church. You can't do that and expect to grow spiritually. If you ever expect to become strong in the Lord, you need to exercise your faith, like you do your body.

    BUTCH: Hmmm. That is interesting.

MOM: How about you boys and girls? Do you feel that church is a waste of time - that you don't get anything from it?

BUTCH: Yes, boys and girls, mom has convinced me. Church is not just a place to sit on Sunday Morning.

MOM: That's right, Butch. It's a place where true believers in Christ meet to worship and serve God and to learn how to live for Him.

BUTCH: Don't let church become a bore. Get involved. Bye boys and girls.

    MOM: Bye, see you later.
