PUPPET SCRIPT

"AN OLD PIECE OF WOOD"
Jeremiah 18:1-11
PUPPETS: Dad & Butch

BUTCH: Dad, what did uncle Joe want with that old piece of firewood I had last week?

DAD: You didn't notice anything on the fireplace mantel?

BUTCH: Yes, I saw that beautiful wooden bufflehead duck. But what has that to do with uncle Joe and the firewood?

DAD: You see, uncle Joe carves wood.

    BUTCH: He does?

DAD: Yes, and he does a pretty good job of it too.

BUTCH: Are you trying to say that that beautiful wooden duck was carved by uncle Joe?

DAD: Yes, uncle Joe did that.

    BUTCH: Wow. It looked great.

DAD: But do you know what is even greater?

    BUTCH: What's that dad?

DAD: That beautifully carved duck was made out of the old piece of firewood you had. Uncle Joe just loves to take an old piece of wood and watch it change into something beautiful

BUTCH: My Sunday School teacher said something today that reminds me of that.

DAD: Reminds you of uncle Joe carving a piece of wood?

BUTCH: Yes. My teacher said that is what God does for us. We were unworthy sinners, living a life of pride and selfishness, yet the Lord took us and made us a new creation in Him!

DAD: Hmmmmm. I never thought of it like that, but I will from now on. Every time I look at the duck made out of firewood, I'll think of how the Lord made the old sinful me into a new creature!

BUTCH: How about you boys and girls? Have you ever thought that the Lord couldn't love you because you are "so bad"?

DAD: The Lord tells us in His Word that He loved the whole world, that includes you, so much that He gave His live.

BUTCH: He does love you, and If you accept Him as your personal Savior, He will change you into a new creation! Think about that for a while. See you later

    DAD: Bye boys and girls.
