"LIFEPRINTS"
Colossians 3:1-11
PUPPETS: Dad & Johnny

JOHNNY: Dad, I really had fun yesterday.

DAD: What did you do, Johnny, that was so much fun?

JOHNNY: I played with the new detective set you got me.

DAD: You did? I'm glad you enjoyed it. But I've been hearing things about you in school that maybe requires some detective work.

JOHNNY: What have you been hearing?

DAD: Some of the things I have been hearing is that you cut in line at the water fountain, you move coats on the coat rack so you can have the one next to the door.

    JOHNNY: Well........

DAD: Your teacher says you have been daydreaming instead of studying. You are the first one to the door at lunch time and the last one in and when you had to stay in during recess to finish the work you should have done during class time you said "no fair".

JOHNNY: Well, I still had fun with the detective set. Did you know that whatever you touch you leave a print behind.

DAD: I know Son, I know. What kind of prints have you been leaving these days?

JOHNNY: The same kind as always, of course, your fingerprints don't change.

DAD: True. But wherever you go, you leave other prints too. Let's call them lifeprints.

    JOHNNY: Lifeprints?

DAD: Yes, lifeprints. Everything you do makes an impression - or lifeprint - on other people.

    JOHNNY: We do?

DAD: What kind of prints do you think you made this week on your teacher and the kids in school?

    JOHNNY: Hummmm....

DAD: Unlike fingerprints, we can change the kind of 'lifeprints' we make. But we need God's help.

JOHNNY: It won't be easy but I'm going to pray to God and ask Him to help me.

DAD: What about you, boys and girls? What kind of 'lifeprints' are you making? Do others see selfishness and laziness in your prints, or do they see kindness, courtesy, faithfulness and friendliness?

JOHNNY: I wonder if they are like me and the kids didn't see Jesus in me. Ask God to help you live in such a way that the prints you leave are a good testimony for God. Bye boys and girls.

DAD: See all of you later. Bye.
