SALLY: I GIVE UP!!!!
MOM: What in tarnation did you say?
SALLY: I GIVE UP!!
MOM: Give up on what?
SALLY: Give up on Chris.
MOM: What's happening now?
SALLY: I was so happy when she became a Christian a month ago, but now she's getting tiresome.
MOM: Why would you say that?
SALLY: One day she acts like a Christian and the next she lies or cheats or uses bad language. She'll never make a good Christian!
MOM: I hope you won't really give up on her. You need to pray for her and help her understand how to live for the Lord.
SALLY: Oh, I don't know, I think it's hopeless.
MOM: Sally, do you remember what little Blake did last night?
SALLY: Why sure, Blake took his first step.
MOM: And do you remember what you said you were going to do?
SALLY: I said I would help teach him to take another step until he was walking.
MOM: Well, if I remember, he kept falling and you had to start all over. Why didn't you give up on him?
SALLY: Give up? What do you mean? He just needed more help.
MOM: (chuckling) You're exactly right, Sally. Blake does need a little more help and so does Chris.
SALLY: What do you mean?
MOM: Chris is just a baby Christian. She is going to need lots of help in learning to walk spiritually, that is, to live as a Christian should live.
SALLY: Oh, I see what you mean. How about you boys and girls, do you know a Christian whose spiritual walk is not as good as you think it should be?
MOM: Perhaps he is a baby Christian who is learning the first steps of Christian living.
SALLY: He needs your prayers, your encouragement, and your help, even as you need the help of older Christians.
MOM: Bye boys and girls
SALLY: See you later.
