MOM: Well, Chris, this will be David's first Christmas. What do you think he will think about all of this?
CHRIS: If Cheyenne is any indication, the way she acted last year, then I think he won't know what to do.
MOM: Yes, I remember that. She just sat there and looked at the bright paper and ribbons. Even tried to put the ribbons in her mouth.
CHRIS: That's right. I thought it was going to take days for her to unwrap the presents.
MOM: If you and Sally hadn't helped her with the packages she would probably still be unwrapping.
CHRIS: I remember when I took the doll out of the box and gave it to her.
MOM: You sat it right in her lap and she looked at it for a moment, then she threw it away and went for the wrapping paper.
CHRIS: She just laughed and carried on as the wrapping paper made noise as she crinkled it. She put ribbons on her had and had a good time.
MOM: She preferred to play with the paper instead of the doll.
CHRIS: Yes, that was disappointing.
MOM: Well, the bright trimmings did distract her.
CHRIS: You are probably right.
MOM: I wonder if God doesn't feel just as disappointed in us at Christmas time.
CHRIS: Why?
MOM: God sent Jesus to save us from out sins. He is the real gift of Christmas.
CHRIS: Hmmm!! I never thought of it that way.
MOM: Too many people ignore Jesus altogether.
CHRIS: They do?
MOM: Yes, they do. They get distracted by the trimmings of Christmas -- the presents, lights, gifts, trees and carols, and they ignore the Savior completely.
CHRIS: How about you boys and girls? What does Christmas mean to you? Do you worship Christ at Christmas time, or do you get caught up in the trimmings. Christ is the perfect gift. Bye.
MOM: See you later boys and girls.
