DAD: Dale, what in the world is wrong with you?
DALE: I just could hear you saying "Dale, why is the lawn not mowed?"
DAD: You have a good point, Dale. Why is the lawn not mowed?
DALE: Well, I was playing ball.
DAD: Playing ball instead of mowing the yard. I thought we had an understanding after the last time.
DALE: What do you mean the last time?
DAD: How soon we forget. Remember when I told you it was lawn mowing day and you went out and started the mower and your mother found it in the front yard sitting still and running.
DALE: Oh, that last time.
DAD: In our discussion last time about the way a Christian should live, I believe it was you who said obeying your parents was one of the most important things you could do. Now, today, you disobey.
DALE: I'm really sorry, I'll get the lawn mower out right now.
DAD: It's time to leave for children's church now. But as soon as we get home I want the lawn mowed. Remember what happened to your brother at his first soccer match? Remember how I had told him to keep the ball in front of him at all times?
DALE: I sure do. He didn't get the ball till the second period and when he did he kept the ball in front of him just like you had instructed and went all the way and scored a goal ----for the other team.
DAD: Yes, he did everything right but scored in the wrong goal. That was only his first game and he will learn as he goes on.
DALE: Yes he will and I hope I do. I need to make sure I am not scoring a goal for the other team. A Christian is on the Lord's side and he should not act as though he were on the world's side, even for a while.
DAD: Sounds like you are learning too. How about you boys and girls? Are you living as though you're on the world's side or on the Lord's side?
DALE: The world teaches you to do whatever "feels good" to you. God says, "Be holy as I am holy."
DAD: Don't listen to the world's view or be swayed to their side in any area of your life. Be strong in the Lord. Bye boys and girls. See you later.
DALE: Bye everyone
