PUPPET SCRIPT

"PONIES & COOKIES"
2 Peter 1:16-21
PUPPETS: Chris & Mom

CHRIS: Mom, do you remember last night when I was reading to Cole & Adrian just before they went to bed?

MOM: That was very nice of you to read to your little brothers. But why did you ask?

CHRIS: Well, in the book it said that ponies were baby horses. Aren't baby horses called foals?

MOM: Well, ponies are really a type of small horse. They're smaller than regular horses even when they're grown up.

CHRIS: That's what I was thinking.

MOM: Whoever wrote this book made a mistake. I'm glad you're thinking about what you read because you can't always agree with everything people write. Just because something is in a book doesn't mean it's true.

CHRIS: Boy, I really know about that.

    MOM: What do you mean?

CHRIS: Do you remember when I went over to Sarah's house the other night?

MOM: Of course I do. Being the good kid you are, you asked permission before you went over there. What about that night?

CHRIS: Well, Sarah's mom, Sarah and i decided to bake some cookies. We got the cookbook out and followed the directions to a tee.

MOM: So, how were the cookies?

CHRIS: They were just terrible. They were salty.

MOM: Hmmm. Sounds like the cookbook was wrong.

CHRIS: We finally figured that out too. Whoever wrote the cookbook made a mistake.

MOM: You have to be careful with any book written by people. Any time you read, you have to think, Is this true or false, good or bad.

CHRIS: There's only one book you don't have to question.

MOM: You've got it. The Bible. The Bible is always true.

CHRIS: How about you boys and girls? Do you believe everything you read? Remember, people aren't perfect and can make mistakes. The only Book you can fully trust is the Bible. Bye boys and girls

    MOM: See everybody later. bye
