PUPPET SCRIPT

"THE FISHING IS FINE!"
Matthew 4:12-23
PUPPETS: Johnny & Mom

JOHNNY: (singing) I will make you fishers of men....if you follow Me.

MOM: (mom enters) Johnny, what were you singing?

JOHNNY: "Fishers of Men" Do you want to hear?

    MOM: Sure

JOHNNY: I will make you fishers of men....

MOM: Do you know what that means, Johnny?

JOHNNY: I didn't till I studied it in Sunday School.

MOM: Tell me what you learned.

JOHNNY: Well in Sunday School our teacher said that instead of fishing for fish, God wanted us fishing for men, or better yet, for people.

    MOM: That's right, Johnny.

JOHNNY: It is not only right, but it works.

MOM: What do you mean, it works?

JOHNNY: Well, when it was time for Youth Group I went over to Joey's house and asked him to go with me.

    MOM: What did Joey do?

JOHNNY: He asked me a lot of questions like, what do we do, is it fun and so on.

MOM: And what did you say?

JOHNNY: I told him it was real neat. That we played games and studied the Bible and had a lot of fun.

MOM: Tell me, did he go?

JOHNNY: He sure did and together we went to Jimmy's house and asked him and he went too.

MOM: It sounds like you really do know what it means to be fishers of men

JOHNNY: It is fun and it is exciting. I think I had a good fishing trip.

MOM: I hope you will be a fisherman for Jesus as long as you live.

JOHNNY: I think I will. How about you boys and girls? Are you trying to win your friends to Jesus. If you are a Christian, you should be doing this by your actions and your words.

MOM: Yes, boys and girls. You need to invite someone new to the Youth Group meeting or to Sunday School and church. You too can be fishers of men.

JOHNNY: Lots of kids get excited about going fishing. Get excited about fishing for people. Invite someone this week to go with you to church, Sunday school or Youth Group. Bye

MOM: See all of you later. Bye
