John David Steele was born 28 June 1851; died 04 Apr 1889. He was the son of Jeremiah Wilkinson Steele and Martha Lockhart. He is buried in the Fannin cemetery at Crockett, Morgan Co, Ky. John David married Lydia Ann Fannin (born 1853), 15 Feb 1873. Lydia Ann was his cousin, the daughter of George and Mary (Mumpower) Fannin. (George Fannin was the brother of John David's great grand mother, Rosannah (Fannin) Steele. Children of John David and Lydia Ann (Fannin):

George "DeWitt" Steele, left the following information about himself and his family:
"I (DeWitt Steele) obtained the first reprint from the History of Kentucky written in 1888. The second is from the Licking Valley Courier which I have had in my possession for nearly forty-two years. My father was John David Steele, who died when I was twelve years of age in 1889. He is buried in the Fannin Cemetery at Crocket, Kentucky. My grandfather was Jeremiah W. Steele. My wife was Leeta? (hard to read) Mason of Elliott County, Kentucky. She was born November 7, 1871, and died in May of 1955. She is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ashland, Kentucky. I was born December 1, 1876, at Crocket, Kentucky. I am now 82 years of age and in good health, February 24, 1959.
