Camp Advance - Near or in Pikeville, Pike County, KY. A Union camp.
Camp Beaver - Beaver Creek, Kentucky, a Union camp.
Camp Brownlow - Piketon (Pikeville), Kentucky, a Union camp. Probably named for the Tennessee abolitionist and publisher.
Camp Buell - Paintsville, Kentucky, a Union camp.
Camp Craynor - Prestonsburg, Kentucky, a Union camp.
Camp Finnel - Piketon (Pikeville), Kentucky, a Confederate camp.
Camp George - George’s Creek, Kentucky, a Union camp.
Camp Hager - Johnson County, Kentucky, Marshall's fortified positions on Hager Hill prior to the Battle of Middle Creek.
Camp Layne - Probably near modern-day Betsy Layne, Floyd County, KY. This was an early camp of the 39th most likely named for the father of this regiment's quarter-master.
Camp Lookout - Louisa, Kentucky, a permanent Union camp.
Camp Major Taylor - Catlettsburg, Kentucky, a Union camp.
Camp McClure - Louisa, Kentucky, a Union camp.
Camp McFall - Ohio, across the river from Guyandotte, West Virginia (from Morris).
Camp McLaughlin - between Camps Murray and Buell, a Union camp (from Morris).
Camp Murray - near the George’s Creek camp, a Union camp (from Morris).
Camp Peach Orchard - Peach Orchard, Lawrence County, Kentucky, a Union camp.
Camp Powell - near Middle Creek, Kentucky, a temporary Union camp(from Morris). It is believed that 26 Confederate soldiers may still lie in a cemetery near the site of the battle.
Camp Shelby - in Pike County, KY, probably on Shelby Creek.
Camp White - Louisa, Kentucky, a permanent Union camp (from Morris).
