Crown Christ King

Isaiah 52:13 "Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high."

Christ is our King. Because of His holy nature, He dazzles the angelic hosts with His glory. By His magnificent victory over the devil, He is Lord over all the dark and evil hordes of Hell. By His triumph at the cross, He is the conquering Lord who leads His followers from one miraculous victory to another. By His personal greatness, He towers over the nations until they have no more significance than an ax in the woodcutter's hand. Because of His infinite power, He has undertaken the reclamation of all creation and promised to restore it to its pristine glory.

It is therefore a very high privilege to be able to call Him our King.

Present the beginning GMA's (Basic pin)

These young ladies who are just beginning the GMA program will learn many scriptures that will help them claim Christ as their King in their hearts. They are just beginning on the long journey of maturing as followers of the King.

To come to Christ costs nothing; and yet it costs everything. There is no cost except the price of humbling oneself by a confession that she is a helpless sinner in God's sight, and accepting Christ as Savior. In doing that, Christ becomes our King. We have received the Lord Jesus Christ "who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords."

Our faith in Him includes an open confession that Christ is King. There is no suggestion anywhere in the scriptures that at conversion Christ becomes our Savior, but that we retain the option of making Him our King at our convenience. We have no choice. Since He is Savior, Lord, and King, accepting Him as the one necessitates His becoming the other. When we accepted Christ, He became our King.

Present the Maidens (Maiden wreath)

When you accepted Christ, He became your King. No spiritual progress takes place until this point is settled. If God is to commission you for His royal service, then He first must be your King. If He is to lead you to victory, then He must be your King. If you are to enjoy peace in knowing that Christ rules over the nations and will redeem all creation then first He must be your King. All weak Christianity can be traced back to the fact that Christ is not recognized as King in the hearts and minds of His dear children. We challenge you tonight, to set Christ on the throne of your heart and make Him the King of your life.

What should a Christian expect when Christ is indeed our King? Looking into the eternal future, we can confidently count upon the final overthrow of Satan, and the whole world hushed to see our Savior crowned. In the immediate future, we can with equal confidence expect Him to lead us daily along the triumphant trail He trod. The pattern of what we should expect is found in the life of our Lord Jesus himself. If Christ is our King, then we are His servants. Whatever other relationships may exist between us, this cannot be denied.

Present the Lady-In-Waiting Bar

The cost of calling Him King is the admission that we are His servants and committed to do His will at any cost. The most common reason why so many Christians are slow to confess Christ as King is that they are more concerned for themselves than they are to make Him known. We challenge you to claim Him as your King and submit yourself to being His humble servant.

The servant of the Most High is clear-minded and intelligent; for, she has been let into the divine mysteries. She knows the secrets of God, and deals in matters of eternal importance. She does not grope in the dark as heathen philosophers do, but has the answer to problems that baffle the moralist or perplex the psychologist.

Present the Lady Bar

Wisdom and honor seem to be pre-requisites to which a servant of the King might justly lay claim. We challenge you as God's servant to deal wisely with your fellow man and you will be honored. But, remember, "the glory shall be: but first the cross must be."

Although we are thrilled with a King who is the mighty conqueror of Stan, and who deals with nations as a man might swat an irritating little bug, we have little enthusiasm for following Him along the bloody trail He trod. But in all scripture there is no suggestion whatever that a believer should expect better treatment in this world than her Lord. Since He was despised, then we should be despised, too, for He is our King. He was rejected of men; then, why not us? His coronation in glory was preceded by the shame of the cross, and if He is to be our King, then this is the way we must go. We do not, and cannot, have any share in His suffering for the sins of the world, but the source of our suffering is the same as His. It comes from a world that is resolutely determined that Christ shall never be King.

Present the Queens (Appropriate awards)

We assert with all our strength that Christ died for our sins, and not merely to show men how to die. He did not die just to give us a supreme example of self-sacrifice for a great cause. Yet, we must dogmatically proclaim these great truths, but we must never be blinded to the other truth that "Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example." And we challenge you that you should follow His steps, then you will truly be a Queen fit for the King.

In the final days of the war, Japan called for men to pilot suicide planes that were no more than winged bombs flown right into the target. The men who flew the little planes on a one-way mission to certain death were called the Kamikaze or Divine Wind pilots. Their single passion was to die for the glory of their Emperor and the honor of their country. In the dying days of this world the hosts of darkness are massed for their final, desperate stand against the Lord of Hosts. The outcome is certain. Satan shall be defeated; the nations shall be subjugated, and Christ shall reign. But until that great and glorious day shall dawn, God is looking for Kamikaze men and women who with daring faith will abandon all for Him, caring nothing save this, THAT CHRIST SHALL BE KING!

We can declare with the Psalmist that "The Lord is King for ever and ever." (Psalm 10:16a)
