Love is the Key to….

We must realize that the only way for us to serve Jesus in any way, we must be filled with His love to enable us to serve our fellow Christians.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting live." John 3:16

"A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another as I have loved you, that ye also love one another." John 13:34

'Jesus saith unto him (Thomas), I am the way, the truth, and the live: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." "If ye love me, keep my commandments." John 14:6, 15

According to the scriptures that we have just read from God's Word, we find that LOVE IS THE KEY to everything! Love is important to each and everyone of us here tonight whether we really want to admit it or not. Love is also very important to God's work.

We use keys for many things such as opening the door of our houses, keeping someone out of our house, to get into our cars, our lockers at school, our post office box, our safe deposit box at the bank, and many more things. We must have a key for each one of these things. No key will work for everything. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could use just ONE key for all of them.

Now we are going to find that there is one key that will indeed work for many, many things. By enumerating these different things, we will have each one represent on of your officers. We ask that each officer come forward and remain standing as her office is described.

President____________ Love is the key to the CROWN. "Blessed is the man that endureth temptation, for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath provided to them that love Him." James 1:12

As president, your duties are to preside over all meetings of this body, to appoint committees as directed by the body, to serve as ex-officio member of all committees , to call special meetings when necessary, to endeavor to have an intelligent understanding of all objectives of the work and to keep the auxiliaries informed about conditions and needs of the work.

I Vice President__________. Love is the key to SERVICE. "for, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another." Gal. 15:13

As Vice President your duties are to preside over the meeting in the absence of the president, to be chairman of the personal service work and encourage personal service, and to encourage attendance to all levels of the GMA work.

II Vice President _________. Love is the key to PREPARATION. "And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace." Eph, 6:15 "The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue is from the Lord." Prov. 16:1

As II Vice President your responsibility is to plan spiritual, uplifting programs for each meeting. You must be sure that there is appropriate music and devotionals to enhance the theme. The meetings will only be as spiritual as the program your prepare.

Secretary _________. Love is the key to LIFE. "The Lord preserveth all them that love Him; but all the wicked will He destroy." Psalm 145:20

As secretary you duties are to keep accurate record of all proceedings, to keep a record of all minutes, and to report the previous minutes at the next meeting.

Historian ________. Love is the key to CHRISTIAN UNITY. "Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, and of one mind." Phil 2:2

As Historian your duty is to keep a history of all the work of our auxiliary in our scrapbook.

Song Leader ______. Love is the key to SHARING AND CARING. "And He answering, said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself." Luke 10:27

As Song Leader, your duties are to lead in group singing during the meetings and to cooperate with the program chairman to select appropriate music to correspond with the program.

Pianist __________. Love is the key to PATIENCE. "Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up." I Cor. 13:4

As Pianist you duties are to be at the instrument during the meetings and to be ready for special music upon request.

Corresponding Secretary _________. Love is the key to FAITHFULNESS. "O love the Lord, all ye His saints; for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer." Psalm 31:23

As Corresponding Secretary, you duties are to take notes from the meeting and write a news article to be placed in all important news publications to keep everyone in the public aware of the GMA work.

CHARGE TO THE OFFICERS

You have been chosen by this group to fill these offices. This is a great honor, but with this honor comes a grave responsibility. You are to be the leaders and examples to this group. Because of this, it is vital that you live in such a way that all who see you may know that you are all Christians. Realizing this responsibility, are you willing to accept this office, and will you, with the Lord's help, do your best to fill it in such a way as to honor Christ?

CHARGE TO ALL MEMBERS

As members of the Girl's Missionary Auxiliary, the responsibility for the welfare of this work rests as much on you as it does on these officers. Without you cooperation, loyalty, prayers, and service, the results of their work will be limited. You have heard the pledges these officers have taken. They will be depending on you. Christ, who is the head of the church, is depending upon you for your loyal support. If you are willing to take the same pledge your officers have taken, will you please make it know by standing while we sing.
