The Three Coins

I Cor. 29:10-16

Central truth: "All things come of Thee."

We are using coins to represent gifts given to men, whether given by God or by man. In the Bible each one of these coins represents something special in God's eyes. But we are not using them here as Biblical theology or doctrine. The are merely symbols to point us to an earthly truth.

The first coin is a copper coin (read Luke 21:1-4). Some interesting facts about this coin is that it is given to all men, saved and sinners alike. It represents the price of food and clothing, anything needed for living , which we are paid for working. Our response should be thankfulness because we need God to provide it for us.

The second coin is a silver coin (read Exodus 30:12-15). This coin is offered to all men AS sinners. It represents redemption of our souls. Our response must be to accept it. Jesus has provided salvation for us. It is the most precious gift He could have given to us. It cost him his life to redeem us from our sins.

The third coin is a gold coin (read Job 23:10-12). This coin is given only to saved men. It represents knowing God more personally. Our response is that we must seek it for ourselves. God will meet us and reveal himself to us. We can grow closer to God through our personal prayer life, Bible study, and serving in our local church.

Present all the girls in each step to receive their awards.

Charge to GMA Girls: It is our prayer that as you begin your GMA work you will accept the silver coin of redemption provided by Jesus and I charge you to go on to "seek the gold" coin of knowing Jesus as you advance through the forward steps. Seek to know him through Bible study, prayer and faithfulness to the Lord's church as you grow to maturity in your Christian faith. Each time you learn something special about God in your devotional studies, you will receive a special blessing of knowing God better and this will draw you closer to him as you allow him to direct your life. Jesus deserves the very best of our lives. She should always be first in our lives. I charge you to seek to know God better and honor Him in your life and you will gather gold coins of blessings.

Conclusion: Don't waste your life working only for copper pennies which represent worldly possessions. You cannot work for the silver coin, it is a gift from God that Jesus has already finished the work. Seek the gold coin of knowing God by the "work" of Bible study, prayer, meditation, and faithfulness in church attendance.
