| All I know is that my birthmother gave birth to a son after 1953 and before 1960 (when I was born) and he was placed with Catholic Charities. Our birth mother is deceased and probably our birth father now as well. I have important medical information for my brother but the state of Illinois will not put us in touch with each other because I was born in Iowa. My birth aunt does not remember the exact year of my brother's birth but she thought it was in 1957 or 58. I am very sure that my brother does not know I exist but I desperately need to find him and give him his medical background. | I am searching for my birth niece, my sister's child. My sister went through Catholic Charities to have her baby adopted out. The baby was born in the home of the family where Catholic Charities placed her, in Waukegan, Illinois. We were raised in Cicero, Illinois. I was not there when she was born, but my sister, Judith told me she had red hair. Judith named the baby Joan, after the lady in Waukegan that she stayed with. Of course, her name has probably changed. The adoption agency, Catholic Charities advised my sister to change her name while awaiting her baby, to another last name in case something should happen, to keep her privacy. Her maiden name was Viers. Our mother's maiden name was DeRose, so, Judy chose to use DeRose. I want to meet my niece. Judith wants to meet her daughter. Since I am accustomed to Computers and internet, and she is not, she wants me to find "Joan" too. We have been wanting to do this for years, now, with the internet, it is made easier.
