1/2 cup shortening
Cream shortening until soft. Gradually ad molasses, creaming well. Beat in egg until mixture is light and fluffy. Sift together flour, salt soda, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in rolled oats, nuts and raisins. Chill dough. Shape dough into balls, roll each in granulated sugar and place on greased baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
