A Smile Epidemic

This page was inspired by the following poem, which was sent to me by
a fellow member of Random Acts of Kindness, Shauna, of Gardener's Paradise.
JUST SMILE
Smiling is infectious,
You catch it like the flu.
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner,
And someone saw my grin.
When he smiled I realized,
I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile,
Then I realized its worth,
A single smile, just like mine,
Could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin,
Don't leave it undetected.
Let's start an epidemic quick,
And get the world infected.

"A SMILE costs nothing, but
gives much. It enriches those who receive, without making poorer those
who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts
forever. None is so rich or mighty that he can get along without it, and
none is so poor but that he can be made rich by it. A smile creates
happiness in the home, fosters good will in business, and is the
countersign of friendship. It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the
discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and is nature's best antidote for
trouble. Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is
something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some
people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none
needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give." --

LYRICS
Powder your face with sunshine;
Put on a great big smile;
Make up your eyes with laughter;
Folks will be laughing with you in a little while.
Whistle a tune of gladness;
Gloom was never in style;
The future's brighter
When hearts are lighter...
Smile, smile, smile!
