Christmas is a wonderful time of the year. A time when most people are happy, loving and giving, however, Christmas this year may well be a sad time for many people also. In particular those who have lost someone dear to them since last Christmas. Holiday times seem to bring it all home to us all the more. We can no longer share that special time with our dearly departed loved one. Our thoughts turn to happier times when we were together and although memories can be sweet, they can also be upsetting. It is now over four years since both of my parents went to be with the Lord. Time is a great healer but nothing can ever take the place of a loved one.
I
ask a special blessing upon those of you who are experiencing grief
this Christmas time and I ask that the Lord will uphold and sustain
you. He is always there, even when we feel totally alone.
He is only a prayer away
I
found this poem recently and it touched my heart. It has a special
meaning to me now that my parents are no longer able to spend Christmas
with me. I hope that it will be of comfort to someone reading this
now.
First
Christmas With Jesus
I
see the countless Christmas trees around the world below,
with
tiny lights, like heaven's stars, reflecting in the snow.
The
sight is so spectacular, please wipe away that tear,
for
I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I
hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear, but
the
sound of music can't compare with the Christmas choir up here.
I
have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring,
for
it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing.
I
know how much you miss me. I see the pain inside your heart,
But
I am not so far away. We really aren't apart. So be happy for
me
dear ones. You know I hold you dear and
be
glad I'm spending Christmas, with Jesus Christ this year.
I
send you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above.
I
send you each a memory, of my undying love.
After
all "Love" is the gift, more precious than pure gold.
It
was always most important in the stories Jesus told.
Please
love and keep each other, as my Father said to do,
for
I can't count the blessings or love He has for each of you.
So,
have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear.
Remember,
I'm spending Christmas, with Jesus Christ this year.

Author unknown ~
I
would love to be able to give credit to the author of this beautiful
poem, but unfortunately it just had 'Author unknown'
written
underneath it. Thank you, whoever you are, you must have a
special gift from God to be able to write something as lovely as
this. I am sure that it has been, and will continue to be
a blessing to many.
