Happy Mothers Day

A very Happy Mother's Day to all mothers! I want to say a special thank you to my mother! I can't even begin to describe how special my mother is to me. She is the most wondeful woman I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. In a world where so many children are abandoned, neglected, and not wanted ... having a mother as wonderful as mine is such a blessing. I haven't always understood how lucky I was. As any child would, I took her for granted so many years. All the times she dropped whatever she was doing to bring something that I'd forgotten to school for me, ran me to my dancing lessons, softball practices and games, cheerleading practices, football games, basketball games, homecoming festivities, shopping for prom (or any other outfit I felt I just HAD to have! ... anything! She was always there for me ... and for that ... I am eternally grateful! Someday I hope to be a mother ... and when I am - I know I've had the best role model in the world! God truly blessed me with you, Mom. I love you!!

Mother's Day was first observed in Philadelphia on May 10, 1908. Six years later President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the second Sunday in May for public observance of Mother's Day. It is now observed in countries all around the world. Carnations are the Mother's Day flowers: pink to be worn for a living mother and white if the mother has passed away.
