Boogers On A Stick

8 oz. Jar cheez whiz
Green food coloring
25-30pretzel sticks

Melt the cheeze whiz in the microwave or on top of the stove, according to directions on the jar. Allow the cheese to cool slightly in the jar.

Using a long handled spoon, carefully stir about three drops of green food coloring into the warm cheese, using just enough to turn the cheese a delicate snot green.

To form boogers: Dip and twist the tip of each prtezel stick into the cheese, lift out, wait twenty seconds, then dip again. When cheese lumps reach an appealingly boogerish size, set pretzels, booger down, onto a sheet of waxed paper.

Allow finished boogers on a stick to cool at room temperature for ten minutes or until cheese is firm. Gently pull boogers off waxed paper and arrange on a serving platter. Serves 5 to 6 booger buddies.

To make it even "grodier": Place a bowl of chunky red salsa in the center of the platter so that guests can turn plain buggers into bloody ones.

Toxic Aquarium

Mix orange and blue jello to get a sickly shade of green. Pour into an aquarium. Lifesavers make old tires and you can toss in other junky things for trash on the bottom of the sea. Something barrel-shaped for that illegally dumped toxic waste. Float your fish upsidedown on top, and add a plastic skeleton or two.

Puss Pimples

4 small Pitas
8 oz. Mozzarella cheese -- shredded
Ketchup

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Slit open each pita along 1/4 of its edge to make a pocket, and spoon 1/2 cup shredded cheese into each one. Place the stuffed pitas on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the pitas turn golden brown. Remove from the oven. With a knife, poke a hole in the top of each pita. Carefully squeeze pitas (careful - they are hot!) until a little melted cheese oozes out of the hole. Dab ketchup around the hole and arrange on a platter. Kitty Litter Cake

1 pkg. spice cake mix

1 pkg. white sandwich cookies
green food coloring
12 small tootsie rolls
1 pkg. vanilla pudding mix
1 new kitty litter box
1 new pooper scooper

Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions. Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble. Crumble white sandwich cookies in small batches in blender. They tend to stick, so scrape often. Set aside all but about 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring and mix using a fork.

When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with half the remaining cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding. Gently combine. Line new, clean kitty litter box. Put mixture into litter box. Put three unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly. Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls and bury in mixture. Sprinkle the other half of cookie crumbs over top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly over the top, this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter. Heat remaining Tootsie rolls, 3 at a time, in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with cookie crumbs. Serve with a new pooper scooper. Serves 24.

Radioactive Punch

Easiest is to mix something yellow with something blue. Orange juice and Mountain Dew are good for the yellow, Great Bluedini kool-aid is good for the blue. You'll end up with a radioactive shade of green. If you're using a punch bowl, try this: Get some of those latex gloves, fill them with Mountain Dew or juice, freeze. Unmold carefully and float the disembodied hands in the punch bowl.

Nuclear Waste

1 measure blue curacao
1 measure Bailey's Irish Cream
top up with one pint cider -- (or lager if you prefer)

The end result is a sort of greenish-brown liquid with scummy bits floating in it and a THICK layer of scum on top. Tastes wonderful, though, especially if you dunk chocolate bars in. (These are referred to as Control Rods, and the bar of preference is a Toffee Crisp, if only because the crisped rice pieces start floating around in the drink and making it look even nastier)

Another variation is to mix blue curacao and orange juice (and vodka). Turns everything a very nice shade of fluorescent green.

Ralph's Retch

Spoon alternating layers of crushed ice and gelatin pieces into tall glasses, filling them about 2" away from tops. Slowly pour soda into each glass until full, then stir gently. Serve retch with ice tea spoons, so your guests can get at every chilly glob.

Sewer Soda

Let ice cream sit at room temperature until it is easy to scoop. Spoon ice cream into glasses until it is about halfway full. Pour or squeeze about 3 tablespoons chocolate syrup into each glass. Slowly fill almost to the top with club soda and stir well with a spoon. Serve with a straw and tall spoon for excavating those luscious brown lumps. Serves 4 sewage slurpers. Halloween Make Up

Cornstarch

Liquid or paste food colors (paste makes more intense colors)
Facial tissues
Cotton balls or batting and Puffed Wheat cereal for special effects
1 sm. mixing bowl
4 paper cups
Cotton swabs or sm. brush

bar

--SPECIAL EFFECTS--

In bowl, mix 3 tablespoons cornstarch and 1 tablespoon flour. Gradually stir in 3/4 cup Karo corn syrup and 1/4 cup water until smooth. This amount will make up 4 children's faces. Divide mixture between 4 paper cups. Color 3 batches with food colors of your choice (1/2 teaspoon liquid or 1/4 teaspoon paste for each batch). Leave 1 batch untinted.

For additional colors, prepare more makeup. Separate tissues into single layers; tear lengthwise into 2-inch wide strips. Using swabs or brush, paint generous coat of untinted mixture on forehead; place strip of tissue over area; pat firmly with fingertips. Brush on more of same mixture to cover any dry spots on tissue. Continue painting rest of face, one area at a time, and covering it with tissue. Don't paint eyelids or around eyes. Let dry about 15 minutes; time depends on temperature and humidity.

Stir colored batches before using. Paint on 1 color at a time as desired. Let dry slightly before using another color if you want them to blend, or let dry completely if you don't. To speed process, use hair dryer on air setting.

For deeper, smoother, candy-color effect, use several coats of same color (allow to dry slightly between coats).

TO BUILD UP EYEBROWS, nose or chin (or for beard) apple cotton to damp, untinted mixture. Paint with more of the same. Cover with tissue and paint desired color.

FOR GHOULISH EFFECT, dust made-up face with flour.

FOR WARTS, stick on Puffed Wheat cereal with untinted mixture, then coat with layers of mixture-soaked tissue. Paint desired color.

TO REMOVE MAKEUP, wet face, then gently peel tissue away. Wash face with warm water.

Hints for halloween fun

* Take a teaspoon or so of black paste for food and stir it into any basic sugar cookie recipe. The dough will turn a rich black that's perfect for making bat cookies.

* Regular green food coloring does nice things to Halloween Jello. Make a bowl of orange jello and when it's semi-solid drip several drops of green coloring onto the surface and stir them in gently. They'll swirl into dark demonic tornado clouds.

* Scrambled eggs feel and look much more like brains than cold spaghetti - add a few drops of green, red and blue food coloring as you're beating the eggs and the final product will frighten even the most hardened child.

* A drop of two of red coloring turn grapefruit sections pale pink making them into very convincing thumbs.

* Drop a pint of cherry tomatoes into a pot of boiling water, blanch them for a minute and then drain and slip off their skins. Instant bloody eyeballs.

* If you stir baking soda into vinegar, it'll foam right out of the glass.

* Shake salt over a lighted jack o lantern candle and make blue sparks.
