DIED: 7-22-1879, age 60 of pneumonia in Taney Co., MO, buried in Rhodes Cemetery.

The following was printed in the Moulton Advertiser paper:

"Died in Taney Co., MO, Hon. E.G.W. Hampton, in the 60th year of his age. He died on the 22nd day of July 1879. He was born and raised in Morgan Co., AL. At the time of his death he was Probate Judge of the county in which he lived (Taney Co., MO) and was highly esteemed by his countrymen. He was a bright mason, a kind father, loving husband and a pious member of the Baptist Church. He was the oldest of 19 children, and only five are left as a remnant of that large family. His wife, 5 children and many relatives to cherish his memory."

I found that Green homsteaded 160 acres in Taney Co., MO 4-1-1875 (copy on file)

5. Amanda Lucinda Diana, born 1-2-1875, died 5-28-1959, buried at Duffield Cemetery, Jay, OK, married Daniel Leonard QUICK 3-29-1886. He was the son of Aaron Tennon and Sarah Louisa (FORD) QUICK.

6. David Lucien "Uncle Dave", born 6-28-1878 near Protem, MO, died 1-23-1975, buried at Isabella Cemetery, Isabella, Ozark Co., MO, married: 1. Bessie SNIDER 2. Flossie BUNCH, 3. Bertha PILAND, 4. Addie PRICE, 8-3-1918 at Charles D. McBride's residence. His address was shown as Three Brothers, AR and hers was Willhoit, MO (copy of their marriage license below). Addie was born 1891 and died 1924. Dave had 11 children by two of these marriages. One child with Addie PRICE: Cecil Millard. I think Cecil married Emma ROSE...another name associated with him was Gusta B. DEWEESE. Do you know what is correct here?

Info from another researcher states the following: "The info that Cecil Mallard (Hampton) the only child of Uncle Dave (with Addie Price) personally sent to me a few years ago was that he (Dave) had been married two times: first to Bessie SNIDER; then to his second and current wife Virginia FRAZIER..."

I have a copy of Uncle Dave's obituary. It says he was born 6-15-1873 (but says he couldn't remember for sure his birthdate). He was over 100 years old at the time of his death if obituary is correct. At the time of his father's death (7-22-1879), Uncle Dave was said to be one year old so 1878 wuld be the correct birth year. Obituary says he worked in the coal mines in Oklahoma. Once he was pinned in by a boxcar that had broken loose from it's pulley for over 3 hours.
