April 2000 ~ I have been keeping a record of Connor throughout my pregnancy, but I thought that it was time that he had his very own page, just like his sisters! He was born on July 23, 1999. He is a very happy little boy. Of course, he has his moments. Usually he is fussy whenever I leaves his eyesight. He enjoys playing in his exersaucer, hanging out with me, watching his crazy sisters, and eating. He has been exclusively breastfed, thus far. At 8 1/2 months, Connor can sit up very well. Sometimes he does a nose dive, but it's very rare. He's so sweet, though... He always makes me smile. What more can I ask for? My heart melts when I hear him laugh. I don't think there is anything more wonderful in the world than to know that someone loves you so unconditionally. It is truly a joy to be a mother. The rewards are endless~

May 6, 2000 ~ Connor can sit up from a belly position.

May 18, 2000 ~ Connor was 22lbs 12oz and he was 28 1/2 inches long. His head was 18 1/2 inches, if I remember correctly. He is all caught up with his shots. He had a Hep B and didn't even flinch! I was so happy.

May 25, 2000 ~ Ok, I finally introduced a "real" food to Connor. Graham crackers...Now all the child wants to do is nurse or eat graham crackers. Now and then he will eat his baby food, but is so picky on what I give him. The child actually has an orange tint to his skin. You can see it on his cheeks and nose (and it's not stained). It's obvious he wants finger foods. He is mildly interested in Cheerios

June 13, 2000 ~ Well, I guess today, my lazy boy decided to get ambitious. He's been practicing this all day long, from what my sil said and he performed it for me just as I got home from school. He pulled himself up to a standing position for the first time! I'm so thrilled. I really hope I don't miss his first steps. That will just break my heart! Maybe I'll have my in-laws velcro his butt to the floor...lol

June 21, 2000 ~ Connor said his first words! We were in New Hampshire. His very first word (besides Mama) is BOOK! He also says CRACKER, which comes out CAA-CAA...must be because all he ever eats is graham crackers (connor wanna cracker?)...lol

June 30, 2000 ~ I started school a couple weeks ago, but this past week was the first week that all the kids went over to my mother-in-law's house to be babysat from 8-3. The first week, they were at my home and I was home at 1pm. Well, I guess it must be because it's a different environment and a longer time period, but when I come to pick the kids up, Connor just lights up. He fusses until I hold him and when I finally do, he cuddles up to me and sucks his thumb. He does this for about a minute. Then he starts loving me to pieces. My face gets so slobbered from all his open mouth kisses, it's hilarious. He will do this for a good ten minutes. I guess he really misses his mama! I just thought it was so sweet.

July 9, 2000 ~ Connor started cruising the couch! It won't be long before he's walking on his own...what fun this is going to be...lol

July 21, 2000 ~ It seems like just yesterday that I couldn't wait for Connor to be born. He is almost one year old. All I can say is, "Wow!". It has been so much fun watching him grow. He has brought me such great joy.

July 23, 2000 ~ Connor had a wonderful birthday party, though he slept through most of it...lol. I did make a time capsule for him to open on his 21st birthday. I had everyone that came add to it. It will be a wonderful treasure for him someday. Here are some pictures from his party.

August 6, 2000 ~ Today we went to the park for a picnic. There was another boy there that was a month older than Connor. Well, this little boy loved Connor. He would lay his head on his legs and love him. Connor wasn't too impressed with this situation. It was as if someone was invading his personal space, so he would fuss and whine and cry whenever the other baby would come near him. Well, this little boy turns into psycho boy and starts to grab - and I mean really hard grabbing - at Connor's arms and legs so he can get close enough to him to bite him. I never thought I would shove another person's baby, but let me tell you, a mother WILL protect her young. That damn child was not going to bite my son...lol The good thing about this no walking situation is that Connor sits on the blanket and doesn't leave it at all. He's afraid of grass...lol He went for his first swing too!

August 29, 2000 ~ Today Connor stood up without the aid of holding onto anything! Then we went over to a friend's house and he took two or three steps on the grass!

September 8, 2000 ~ Connor is finally walking...he's been doing it cautiously for about a week now and he's getting better at it. He still prefers to crawl, but he gets real brave and will walk across an entire room. It's pretty neat to see with his arms in the air like a little ape...lol

September 17, 2000 ~ Today, Connor went for his first pair of shoes. They are so cute! The are a soft brown suede. He was so funny. He wouldn't walk in them in the store. We just got home and he is very cautious walking in them. He doesn't appear to be all that impressed. His shoe ended up being a size 5. I need to go get pictures of him now! : ) This is the first time he has ever had shoes on his feet!
