What will they say? What will they do?

I decided to create a page dedicated to the humorous and entertaining things that my children do and say. Each day is filled with something that I want to remember. Often I end up saying a week later, "Oh she did or said something really funny...but what was it?" I hope that I will be able to document some of the things that come out of the mouths of my babes. I also hope that you, as the reader, enjoy our happenings and can relate to some of it...

January 1999 ~ My four year old daughter periodically comes up to me with a sign she has made with a new word on it. One day her sign read "DOG". She said to me, "Look, I can spell 'dog'!". Usually she learns these three-letter words on preschool television. The other day my daughter came up to me while I was in an online chat room. She was holding one of her signs up. She said to me, "Look, I can spell 'laugh'!". Well, I had to do a double take, because laugh is a big word for a 4 year old. On the paper she was holding up were the letters "LOL". (In a chat room LOL stands for Laugh Out Loud.)
*Note ~ I sent this one to Reader's Digest in February, I think. I have yet to hear anything. Guess they didn't like it!

October 1999 ~ I was sitting on the floor taking care of Morgan's diaper and I didn't want to get up for fear of Morgan taking off on me. So, I asked Olivia if she would please grab me some diaper rash ointment. I wasn't sure if she could reach it because it was up really high. Well, she got it down for me. I asked her, "How did you reach that? That was really up high!". She looked at me with a smile and said, "I'm amazing...just like you, Mumma.". Is there anything more rewarding than that?

November 18, 1999 ~ You know, I thought I had seen and heard everything. Well, it is not so. Today my children were fighting over Morgan's imaginary friend, Sally. You name it, they will fight over it. If it's toys, I can just take the toy away. How do I take Sally away? What next? The air they breath?

November 19, 1999 ~ This must be a good week because she has come up with some good ones! These are Olivia's words...
* both noses are running and he's drooling contagious! ~ referring to Connor's runny nose and continuous drooling.
* nutzo precutzo ~ I tell her it is not a word and to stop saying it. In return, Olivia says to me, "Just keep saying it and it will be a word. That's how they're invented." Such a smarty pants. I have no idea where she gets it!

March 23, 2000 ~ Olivia said to me... "No matter how old I am, I will always be your little pumpkin."
