BROWNIES

4 oz unsweetened chocolate
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1-1/2 cups flour
1 cup walnuts or pecans (optional)

Frosting
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup evaporated milk
1-1/2 squares unsweetened chocolate
4 Tbs butter
1 tsp vanilla
1-2 cups powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt chocolate and butter together over medium heat. Remove from heat, cool to lukewarm and add remaining ingredients, do not overbeat. Grease and flour a 16 x 20 baking sheet. Pour mixture in pan and bake for 20 minutes. While brownies are baking prepare frosting to ice brownies when they come out of oven.
For frosting: Cook brown sugar, salt, evaporated milk and chocolate over medium heat, stirring constantly for 2 minutes once it comes to a boil. Remove from heat and add butter, vanilla and powdered sugar. Beat until creamy. Frost brownies while still warm.
