Hot Crab Curry

        • Fresh crab meat- 2 lbs
        • Large onion- 1 (finely chopped)
        • Ginger-1-inch piece (grated)
        • Garlic- 5 cloves (crushed)
        • Dried red chilies- 2
        • Red chili powder- 2 tablespoons
        • Cumin powder- 1 tsp
        • Coriander powder- 1 tsp
        • Black peppercorns- 1/2 tsp
        • Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
        • Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
        • Coconut milk- 2 1/2 cups
        • Bunch of chopped cilantro (coriander) leaves
        • Salt to taste
        • Oil- 1/4 cup

        Heat oil in a large pan and add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds and dried red chilies over medium heat. When the mustard seeds starts popping, add peppercorns, ginger & garlic and fry for a minute. Then add the onion and fry until brown. Add the red chili powder, turmeric and salt and cook for 3 more minutes. Now pour the coconut milk and bring it to a boil over high heat. Then add the crabmeat and mix gently. Simmer and cook uncovered until the crab is cooked. Garnish with cilantro leaves and serve hot with rice.
