Remembering your hostess's greeting, you realize that the masked man you have just seen must have been Erik, the Phantom of the Opera.
Wondering what he could have meant about fiction, you examine the spot from which you saw him disappear. After a bit of searching, you find a well-concealed trap door in the floor. Opening it, you drop through. You can hear faintly ominous music coming from below.
There is only one way to go ... onward, into the blackness. Are you afraid? If so, you may climb back through the trapdoor to the Library.
