Dr. Monster

Dustin and his collection

Dustin Jablonski

One of the great Universal monsters collector of the world is Dustin Jablonski. His collection is worth at least $18,000 and growing. The walls of his apartment are adorned as a monster museum with magazines, masks, models, cardboard cutouts, lunch boxes, buttons, posters, pictures and many others.

His father started him with the hobby when he handed down his Aurora Monster model collection to him when he was 5 years old. He bought his first monster magazine in 1977. Among his most prized items are a Screen Chills magazine which is among only 6 in the world. This is valued at $1,200. He has a rare 1957 French monster magazine worth around $1,200 and the entire set of Famous Monsters of Filmland.

Dustin's two favorite monsters are Bela Lugosi's Dracula and the Creature of the Black Lagoon. Like many Universal monsters collectors, he has a disdain for the today's monsters like Freddy Krueger and Jason. Is there anyone out there who would like to share their collection with us?
