Help certify Bette's albums! Bette has 9 albums that NEED TO BE certified as Gold, 3 THAT NEED TO BE certified as platinum, and 6 THAT NEED TO HIT platinum again! Go out and buy them! They make GREAT Christmas gifts! We cannot go out and change her movies that flopped at the box office, but let's go out there and change the status of her recording career!! She deserves it. She is a TRUE talent and I hate to see people like Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears who have no talent, no emotion in their songs, out-selling Bette. These albums are EXCELLENT and people need to hear them. Hopefully, once they hear one, they'll want to hear another and so on and so forth. I've written RIAA and Atlantic Records (minus the albums Bathhouse Betty & Bette) to see if I can't get some idea of how many more copies of each of these need to be sold before they will be certified for the first time, or again. A short genre description of each album follows. Please people, push the sales of these albums anyway you can. No buying off of ebay! Buying off of ebay, or other auction sites won't count as a sale! No downloading of mp3's either!! If you think someone will like one, or more, of these, buy it for them. If they like it, hopefully it will lead them to buy a Bette album themselves. Bette has sang all kinds of music, there is something for EVERYONE here.

The following Bette Midler albums have NEVER been certified (these should come first:):
Songs For The New Depression (very mellow and light, lightly upbeat classical sound)
Live At Last (a great live album by a great live performer)
Broken Blossom (for anyone, this album is flawless)
Thighs and Whispers (the disco album)
Divine Madness Soundtrack (another live album, mostly rock)
No Frills (a good 80's light rock album)
Mud Will Be Flung Tonight! (for the comedy album fans)
Gypsy Soundtrack (for those who love musicals)
Bette (once again, for anyone. A GREAT light pop album)

Next, we have the albums that went Gold that we must get to Platinum:
Bette Midler (a GREAT 70's oldies sound)
For The Boys Soundtrack (Excellent oldies!)
Bathhouse Betty (for anyone--this album has it all! Pop, Jazz, R&B, light rap, classical,
hawaiian, her signature ballad sound--PERFECT!)

Finally, the albums that went platinum, or multi-platinum:
The Divine Miss M (her first, a classic. Lots of excellent remakes)
The Rose Soundtrack (good, old fashioned rock and roll. Janis Joplin sound)
Beaches Soundtrack (a great light album)
Some People's Lives (a PERFECT example of the standard pop/rock genre)
 Greatest Hits (all the classics!)
Bette of Roses (FLAWLESS--for anyone. Another perfect pop/rock genre album)
