synopsis
(drama) Not to be confused with the 1956 film starring Ingrid Bergman and Yul Brynner, ANASTASIA: THE MYSTERY OF ANNA also follows the story of Anna Anderson, the woman who claimed to be the only survivor of the Tsar of Russia's family. The family was executed during the Russian revolution. Christian is only in the beginning of the film as the young Tsarvich, the crown prince hemophiliac.

Available on video but hard to find. Starring Amy Irving (then, Mrs. Steven Spielberg) as Anna Anderson, Christian was introduced to Amblin Entertainment thanks to his performance in this telefilm but he had to audition for the part in EMPIRE OF THE SUN with the rest of the 4000 other kids. Very long telefilm, seen today, it loses some of its bite given that recent DNA tests confirmed the identity of Anna Anderson and her relationship to the Tsar.
