synopsis
(black comedy/drama) Based on the book by Bret Easton Ellis, AMERICAN PSYCHO follows the daily ritual of Patrick Bateman, a NY stockbroker who has no soul and is slowly going insane. Even as he kills, he feels no remorse but has a panicked sense of desperation to be caught and recognized for his accomplishments.

This tour de force is Christian's best performance to date, earning him three Best Actor nominations - from the London Film Critics Circle, Empire Magazine, and from the Online Film Critics Society. Transforming himself physically from a lanky English build to a Soloflex jock, Christian also fought hard to regain the part from Leonardo DiCaprio after Lions Gate offered the part to Leo and fired Christian and director/writer Mary Harron. The reviews have been great, praising Christian's performance. Still opening around the world, North Americans got it on video/DVD last September while the film premieres in Japan this March! Christian's co-stars include Samantha Mathis (LITTLE WOMEN), Jared Leto, and Willem Dafoe.
