(crime action/drama) 1970's black detective icon, Shaft, is revamped for the new millennium. This time, it's Samuel L. Jackson playing the suave police detective, hot on the heels of racist murder, Walter Wade Jr. (Bale). Sounding a lot like Jack Kelly from NEWSIES, Christian returns to Manhattan (AMERICAN PSYCHO, NEWSIES) - this time as a nasty rich kid who bludgeons a black college student after an argument at a bar. Christian is reunited with Toni Collette (VELVET GOLDMINE) as she plays the bartender and only witness to his crime. Also stars Vanessa Williams, another Bale connection from POCAHONTAS!
