update
Available on video, this small indie film features a fascinating cast which includes Gerard Depardieu and Robin Williams in an uncredited role. Slow at times, THE SECRET AGENT is nevertheless an intense drama that will surpise you with its bleakness and unHollywood ending. Christian is very touching as the mildly retarded Stevie - a hurt innocence to be echoed later on in ALL THE LITTLE ANIMALS's Bobby. But it is Patricia Arquette who ruins the film with a poor attempt at an English accent.
