[About 3 months later; Stone is on the road with Miguel] (Camera pans to Robin at home, cooking dinner, quietly sobbing. Anna enters)

A: Mommy, what's wrong? Why you crying?

R: Oh it's nothing honey, don't worrry.

A: Do you miss Daddy too? 'Cause I do. Is he gonna be back for my birthday?

R: No, I'm sorry honey. He'll still be on the road with Miguel. (Phone rings)

A: Oh, oh, phone call!!

R: Okay hon, let me get it. (Picks up phone) Hello?

S: (On phone) Hey babe, how are you and the kids?

R: We're fine. How are you? How's the tour going?

S: Not well. Miguel got strep throat and Lily caught the flu so we're coming home tonight. We'll be in PC for a couple of days.

R: Have you caught anything yet?

S: No, not yet. Tell Anna I'll be home for her birthday.

R: She'll be happy to hear that. She really misses you.

S: I miss all of you too. What about you? Are you still coping with morning sickness?

R: (Pause) Um, no. It stopped about a week ago. There's something I need to tell you.

S: Can it wait Robin? I have to go and take care of some things before we can come home. (Away from phone) Yeah, I'll be right there! (Back to phone) I've really got to go. I'll be home late tonight. (Hangs up) (Robin hangs up phone, looks away, fade out)

(That night, kids in bed, Robin is on the phone)

R: I don't know Brenda. I feel so..empty.

B: Do you want me to come over?

R: No, but thank you for offering. Stone should be home soon. He doesn't even know yet.

B: You haven't told him?

R: I tried to, but he hung up on me. He had to take care of something. [sound of a key in lock, someone walking up stairs] Stone's home Brenda. Wish me luck.

B: I'll call you tomorrow. (Robin hangs up phone)

R: Hi. How was your trip?

S: Tiring. I'm thankful for these couple days off.

R: Anna was so excited to hear that you were gonna be home for her brithday.

S: (Goes to Robin, places his hand on her stomach) And how's my 3rd child?

R: I have to talk to you about that. (Removes Stone's hand from her stomach)

S: Is something wrong with the baby?

R: I don't know how to say this. (Starts to cry) I went to the doctor today, and she said I miscarried the baby.

S: You lost our baby? (Robin nods) Are you okay?

R: Physically I'm a little sore; inside I feel like there's a big hole. I keep running it over and over in my head, trying to figure out what I did.

S: What you did for what?

R: To lose our baby.

S: Robin, it wasn't your fault. These things happen.

R: How do you know? You've never been through it. You've never lost a baby and felt so empty.

S: Robin, I'm sorry, but maybe it's a good thing. We aren't ready to have another baby.

R: I thought you wanted this baby.

S: I did. I want any baby that we create together. It's just that we're at the peaks of our careers and we already have 2 kids.

R: Okay, you know what? I'm too tired to argue about this.

S: Robin, can't we talk about this? (Looks over at Robin, who is pretending to be asleep)

[Fade out]"
