SCRAPPY DOO THE PUP YOU JUST HAVE TO HATE!

Welcome friends to another edition of the Scooby Doo Editorials, in this edition I will be talking about Scrappy Doo, the pup that everyone seems to hate. They say that he ruins the show, well I have news for all of you scrappy bashers, the only thing he did was appeal to a younger audience!

I was recently talking on irc with some fellow Scooby buffs all of whom despised Scrappy Doo, I was the only pro-scrappy person on the channel. When I asked two of these people why they hated Scrappy (we will call him ScrD from now on) the only reason that they could come up with was that he ruined the show. So I asked them "Why do you say that?" and what did they say? Well the only thing that they could think of was that once he came along, the show was cancelled a few years later. Now it might just be me but if I were a producer for a show like Scooby Doo, and my ratings were slipping on Saturday mornings, then I would try to apeal to a younger audience which ScrD did, and the season that he came in on the ratings went up by a lot. I'm not saying that I like the Scrappy years better than the vintage years but I do like them a lot.

The only thing in my mind that I can complain about is when they made the show ONLY ScrD, Scooby, Shaggy and Daphne, this wasn't very good because the episode ended up being like Looney Tunes or something because they episode were short little ones bunched up in threes. None the less Scrappy Doo didn't do anything to bring this series down, if it were just Scooby, Shaggy, and Daphne it would have probably done worse!!

When I started to watch Scooby Doo I only got to see about a season without ScrD after that he was always there, and I really didn't mind him, how can people say that he got the show cancelled when he was around for a good 3-5 years??? YOU CAN'T! I'm sure if ScrD never became a part of the show it would have been cancelled earlier because it wasn't able to appeal to a new audience of kids. Do you ScrD haters really think that if ScrD never came on the show we would still be watching new ones now? I highly doubt that we would even be watching new ones 10 years ago (A pup named Scooby Doo excluded).

Why is it that if Scrappy was the death of the show, A Pup Named Scooby Doo isn't around anymore...Why is it that A Pup Named Scooby Doo never lasted more than two or three years? Scrappy wasn't on it at all! If you people hate ScrD soooo much then why is it that if you see an episode with ScrD on TV you will modt likely still watch it!! If you truly hated ScrD you would change the channel or something. ****It is my belief that only two or three of you TRULY hate Scrappy Doo, and the rest of you say that you do so that you won't get ridiculed by the TRUE haters****
