Just wanted to know if you knew anything about my following question. From what I see in the previews, this movie looks very good...it also looks like it is based on a novel titled "The Genesis Rock" by Edwin Corley copyrighted in 1980. This novel is about a volcano which pops up in Manhattan near central park. I just checked the book out again (good story)...here is the cover leaf description: A small fissure has opened in the bedrock under Manhattan, and miles beneath the surface of the earth an awsome natural time bomb is ready to spew steam, boiling-hot sediment, and molten rock down every street and avenue of the city. There is one person in New York who knows what is happening...Janet McCoy, a beautiful and brilliant young geologist, specializing in volcanic activity. She believes that the recent subway excavations in Central Park have unearthed more than a few steam pipes. She has found among the blasted stones at the site, one crucial and terrifying clue - a fragment of "Genesis Rock", part of the earth's inner crust that surfaces only through the violence of volcanic eruption. Does this sound familiar? Think this may be related to the movie? Only a change of locale from NY to LA. If this movie is based on the book, it will be very good. Let me know what you think.
