Beloved Bridges (Reuters) - Jeff Bridges has a reputation as one of the nicest guys in Hollywood. "I've never, ever heard of him pulling a star turn or showing any ego," Peter Bogdanovich, who directed Bridges in "The Last Picture Show" and its sequel, "Texasville," told the New York Post. Lauren Bacall, who worked with Bridges in "The Mirror Has Two Faces," is equally impressed. "He has a gentle way of dealing with any situation that comes up," she says. "I can tell you, if I were just 20 years younger ..." Bridges has made eclectic choices in his movie roles - such as the new Coen brothers film "The Big Lebowski" -- and says that's because he saw his father Lloyd get typecast from TV's "Sea Hunt." "I didn't want to fall into that so I've always jumped at the chance to do something completely different," he says.
