Story
(Sun Rises. Shilloutte of Pride Rock can be seen against the Rising sun)

On the Pridelands

(Thousand of herd of animals gather at the base of Pride Rock)
Kiara and Kovu
Gave birth to a Prince
They also gave birth
To a Princess
They'll raise them good
To turn out like they should
Then they will rule!
(Rafiki and Uganga come out of the lions' cave in the bottom of Pride Rock and make their way up to the to the tip of Pride Rock. They stand at the edge of the rock and survey the animals gathering. The music rises.)
Come everyone and sing
Sing for the join of the new heirs
Sing for the happiness and laughter

Kiara and Kovu
Gave birth to a Prince
They also gave birth
To a Princess

Then they will rule!
(Kiara and Kovu come up behind the mandrills, both carrying a cub. Kovu's cub has Kiara's fur, but Kovu's eyes. Kiara's has Kovu's fur and Kiara's eyes. Each mandrill takes a cub. The animals cheer loudly. They want the mandrills to show the cubs, but they don't yet.)

(Voices chant:)
Kiara and Kovu
Gave birth to a Prince
They also gave birth

(The lead singer and chorus sings again:)
They'll raise them good
To turn out like they should
Our new hope was born today!
(Kiara and Kovu say something to Rafiki, but no one hears it except Rafiki. The lions step back. The mandrills part, and the two lions get between them. Simba and Nala come up behind them to watch, Zazu on Simba's shoulder. The mandrills raise the cubs and cheers rise from the crowd. Kiara and Kovu smile and roar once together. The cheering gets louder.)

(Animals and chorus and lead singers chant:) Our new hope was born today!
(Music stops abruptly and screen shows title on black with blood red letters. Screen fades to black.)

(Camera pans the savanna, which has herds of antelope, three warthogs, and a herd of elephants, until it stops with Pride Rock in the middle of the screen. Camera switches to entrance of the den. The cubs that had been presented were coming out of the den with Simba, Nala, Kiara and Kovu. Simba and Nala walked side by side, Kovu and Kiara, and Nzuri and Nyemi followed. Simba and Nala stopped at the edge of Pride Rock. Zazu landed in front of them and bowed, then he stood between them, facing the Pridelands. The camera shows all of the animals gathering. As they did in the end of Simba's Pride, the Pride assembled in a circle behind the Royal Lions. Rafiki stood in the center, Uganga just outside the den. Rafiki had three halves of coconuts open in a triangle around him. The first had red juice in it, the second had blue, and the third had jade green. The camera goes back to Simba and Nala.)
Simba: *Sighs* I can't believe our daughter is going to really be Queen within ten minutes…
Nala: Yea… I seems like yesterday she was just as small as Nyemi…
Simba: It also seems like yesterday that she was frolicking in the grass as happy as she could be…
Nala: *Laughs once* That was yesterday, Simba.
Simba: Oh yeah! Heh Heh…
(Nala smiles. The animals are getting wild. Finally, Simba lets out a loud roar. He speaks to the animals.)
Simba: Today you are gathered here for the performance of announcing the new rulers and heirs. I, King Simba, and my mate, Queen Nala, now step down from the place of King and Queen. We appoint Prince Kovu and Princess Kiara to the throne now. They will lead you as good or better that we have.
(Simba and Nala let out a thundering roar together, and they turn and walk into the ring of lions. Rafiki puts the ceremonial mark on each of their heads using the red juice. Kovu and Kiara step up and take the Ex-King and Ex-Queens' place. Complete silence covers the savanna.)
Kovu: We shall take Simba and Nala's place and King and Queen of the Pridelands. We would like our son, Nzuri, and daughter, Nyemi, to be heirs of the Pridelands. They will be trained to be the best rulers there can be.
(Kovu and Kiara let out two booming roars in unison, and then they, too, turned and went into the ring. They got the ceremonial mark with the blue. The two cub stepped up. They surveyed the animals and kingdom, the roared one scratchy roar together. The animals cheered. They turned and went into the circle and got the ceremonial mark with the green juice. Screen faces to black.)
(Camera show Rafiki and Uganga are inside the lions' cave whispering. Rain and thunder can be heard outside. Rafiki gets up and gets his three coconut halves. He goes to the back wall of the cave.)
Rafiki: Oh, Uganga, there is something I forgot to do! I forgot to draw the family tree!
(Rafiki draws Simba as he had done in the first movie, along with Nala, Kiara and Kovu as in the second movie, and he added two cubs. He then goes and sits back down.)
Rafiki: The sun has set, we should get sleep.
Uganga: Do we have to? I'm not very tired.
Rafiki: Yes.
(The two mandrills go to sleep. Camera fades to black, then comes to Pride Rock, a week later. The two cubs are sitting with another cub, which looks like little Vitani. She is Vitani's daughter. They are whispering and giggling. The camera switches to show the three cubs.)
Marhidia: Hey- Grandpa Simba once told me the story of the Elephant Graveyard he went to when he was young. He said there were cool hyenas and tons of elephant bones and everything-
Nyemi: No, no, no, don't even go there! Don't say it! You want to go there, right?
Marhidia: Yup, yup, yup!
Nzuri: That'd be cool!
(The three cubs set off north, to the northern border, where the graveyard was supposedly located. Screen fades to black.)
