Hello, I'm back! Just wanted to update with a new story about Simba's passing. This is my depiction of how it would go. Sorry no long goodbyes or anything, but it's a very good story. So please give me some feedback when your done reading!
Goodbye Simba....Till The Day We Meet Again
Simba walked out of the cave and looked back.
And silently to himself he said his goodbyes.
"Goodbye...Kiara, Kovu, you two take care of my grandchildren."
"Especially you Kovu, make sure they grow up with a father. I never experienced what I provided for Kiara, I wish I could have turned out better, as a father and a king, if my dad hadn't died. Children need guidance. Remember that."
"So long...Timon, Pumbaa, leave some grubs from me at the gate."
"Nala, you've been my best friend all of my life."
"Your the closest thing to heaven, that I'll ever be."
"I just want you to know that no matter what happens....I'll always love you."
Simba then walked down the promontory and onto the surrounding fields of Pride Rock, heading toward what would be his final destination.
"And Where Are You Going?" A jolly voice spoke up.
"Huh?" Simba turned and found Rafiki on his back.
"Hehe" Rafiki laughed as he got off Simba's back and picked up his stick that was lying on the ground nearby.
"I'm going to go finally meet my dad...." Simba replied with a smile.
"Oh really....Mind if I walk with you?" Rafiki asked.
"Oh yes." Simba answered.
And with that Simba walked off with Rafiki by his side.
"I remember when you were just a cub...." Rafiki reminisced.
"....You were always so curious about this land, the creatures in it, and you were always getting yourself into trouble." Rafiki smiled.
"Yes, I was always getting into trouble, silly me. But one thing still bothers me Rafiki." Simba said.
"What is it?" Rafiki asked.
"All my life, I've been fighting my family. First came Uncle Scar, then some of the lions within the pride. I mean these lionesses I've known since I was a cub, and here they were turning their backs on me." Simba answered.
"Most of my life has been about this position, this kingdom, this never ending circle...sometimes I feel like my reign as king has been a complete waste, the ideal was just a dream. I am no King, I'm still a cub, at least on the inside. Always searching for the one I lost so long ago in that canyon." Simba finished.
"You know in your heart why you were chosen to take up this lifelong charge." Rafiki began.
"You know who you are, you are the son of Mufasa, the one true King and you remembered who you were when you faced your uncle. You see Simba, a King will always be King...as long as he chooses to be. You didn't become King because you had to be....it's because you chose to be." Rafiki pointed out.
"Your right." Simba agreed.
"I also know that your to hard on yourself. Most of what happened that day, wasn't your fault. If I can blame anyone person for what happened to you, I can squarely blame your grandfather Ahadi, for not being a better parent to Scar, while he was alive." Rafiki said.
"You knew my Grandfather?" Simba asked.
"Ahhh Yes," Rafiki replied in a firm tone.
"Course I think it was a combination of this Kingdom, and always being in Mufasa's shadow, that drove him off the deep end. However although it pains me to say it, he got what he deserved in the end." Rafiki explained.
"Old one, do you think Scar is up there?" Simba asked looking up at the star filled sky.
"Hmmm...That's a question even I can't answer." Rafiki replied.
Simba then saw a large paw print imbented in the ground. It looked to be the exact paw print his father had made all those years ago. Somehow it had survived all of this time.
"I can't believe it, there it is!" Simba said looking at the paw print.
"Aww, his spirit lives on." Rafiki said.
Simba then laid down in the tall grass. He Looked up at the stars and remembered what his father had said all those years ago.
"Rafiki, the night grows darker and sooner or later, I'll just disappear into it. I know what I'm leaving behind. Nala, my daughter Kiara, My grandchildren, My friends. Will they all be ok when I'm gone?" Simba asked.
"It will be hard for everyone, the hurt will last them their entire lives, it won't completely disappear, but eventually those memories will fade. Life will go on. And you'll be remembered in their stories and in their hearts." Rafiki answered.
Rafiki then touched Simba on his shoulders and looked at him.
"Goodbye Simba....Till The Day We Meet Again." Rafiki said softly.
And with that Rafiki disappeared into the night.
Simba then looked up into the star filled sky. The rest of the pride would find him in the morning. He knew that they would be crying for days on end.
The silently to himself he said a prayer.
".....In Our Darkest Hour...."
".....In My Deepest Despair...."
".....Will You Still Care?....."
".....Will You Be There....."
".....In My Trials...."
".....And My Tribulations...."
".....Through Our Doubts...."
".....And Frustrations...."
"......In My Violence...."
"......In My Turbulence..."
"....Through My Fear...."
".....And My Confessions...."
".....In My Anguish...."
".....And My Pain....."
".....Through My Joy...."
".....And My Sorrow..."
".....In The Promise of Another Tomorrow..."
".....I'll Never Let You Part...."
".....For Your Always.....In My Heart...."
"You think we forgot about you?" A Familiar voice spoke out.
"What?" Simba said as he awoke. Then he saw a face he had seen many times, a face that was present on the day of his birth, and a face that he had missed so dearly all of his life.
"Dad...." Simba said.
There he was Mufasa, Simba's father, standing right there beside him.
"...There is still so much I don't understand...." Simba said.
"As it should." Mufasa replied.
"Can I go back?" Simba asked.
"No, this journey has come to an end....time for rest." Mufasa answered.
Simba then looked toward the horizon and saw orange and red glares of light in the sky.
"Oh the sun's coming up." Simba said.
Simba then obeyed what his father had told him and closed his eyes for the last time.
The End
