CORBIN'S COMMENTS
PAGE TWO

What Corbin does in his free time

  • "I really like most sports.  I love to snowboard but my biggest passion is rock climbing. I compete all over in tournaments. I like to play volleyball, racquetball, and paintball... and play my guitar. This year I took up snow-boarding and I love it."

On the importance of history

  • "We need to study history so we won't repeat the mistakes that were made.  If we don't look at the things that happened and why they did we could end up doing the same things.  If we didn't learn about wars and holocausts and communism and all the evils that go along with those, we could be tricked into doing the same things.  On the positive side, I find it fascinating to read the circumstances that different people went through to achieve such great things, in art and music, and culture. Most weren't famous when they were alive but they believed in what they were doing and left us such great works to enjoy.  They didn't give up and they didn't listen to those that told them they wouldn't amount to anything. Sounds pretty corny!  I just didn't like trying to remember all the dates."

On his favorite movies
  • "My favorite movies?  The list probably changes every year!  I used to love movies like 'Predator' and 'Nightwing' and spooky movies like 'The Changeling.'  I really loved 'Courage Under Fire' and 'Forrest Gump' and 'Good Will Hunting'.  But I still have to say that one of my all time favorites was 'Dumbo.' "

On how to deal with life
  • "Some days things look so bad, and you can't ever see them getting better, but they can and do get better... [Talk] to someone else about your problems. A parent, a trusted friend, a counselor, a doctor, or your clergy. They all care. Don't suffer in silence!! Try not to dwell on the bad things in your life, and try counting your blessings...you have more than you think... It may not be easy, but it will be worth it!!"

On Corbin's fan e-mail

  • "I do read my e-mail and write back when I have time...I really like reading [them]!... [I do care] about my fans and their letters to me, it's just hard to find the time to answer them."

On Corbin's Red Lobster commercials
  • "I have 3 Red Lobster commercials running right now...but don't blink or you'll miss me...It was hard to look good when we were freezing to death on the beach in January. It was so COLD!"

On the importance of education
  • "I graduated from high school in Utah [in 1997]. I am taking independent study college classes while I am working but I plan on attending college.  I have always wanted to be a pediatrician.  I plan on getting a good education in case this crazy business of movies doesn't last forever.  I think that's one of the most important things, and one of the things that's deteriorating in the world today … Education is priceless."

On "Quest of the Delta Knights"
  • " 'Quest of the Delta Knights' was filmed 6 years ago this September [1998].  I LOVED making that movie!!!  I worked with great people  who have helped me and are still helping me in my career. Working with David Warner was unbelievable. He's my mentor. I couldn't have learned from a better actor… But I die everytime I see the part where time has passed and all of a sudden I have long hair....I think I look like a girl! I'm sure when my own kids see it (when I have kids) they will think it's pretty cheesy!... I have done alot of things since then but I really think I had the most fun making that movie. Probably because it was all so fun and new. And all the people were great."

On being on TV
  • "Sometimes it's kind of weird but I don't think it has changed me very much.  I am not very 'Hollywood.' I spend most of my time off rock climbing, fly-fishing, and visiting my family in Utah.  My best friends are the ones I've known a long time.  To me acting is just a job.  I want to do good work that people will like but I'm not in it to be a 'star'."

On clogging
  • "I really miss clogging alot! … It was such a fun thing to do! ... I think about it quite a bit. Clogging remains one of my best memories!  I loved every minute of it...and would still do it if I could fit it in. Clogging is the reason that I'm in show business! Someone saw me perform and suggested that I go for a casting call in Salt Lake... the rest is history.  I love the work. It's like being on stage all the time.  Right now I'm trying to find an Irish Step-dancing class.  I think I could pick it up pretty quickly!! And it would keep me in shape!  You can't imagine how many people have me clog for them in my auditions. They didn't know who or what to expect when NBC told the dance group that they had found a boy who could act AND clog. They were surprised to say the least!"

Corbin's favorite stars
  • "My favorite 'stars' are Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, and Meryl Streep.  I would love to work with any of them."
