Episode #109 - "Modern Romance"
In the first scene, Joey trys to help Dawson get over Jen. Taking her advice, Dawson talks to Jen and tries to show her that he wants to be friends. He finds out that she is going to the fair with Cliff, and asks her if she wants to go on a double date with him. She agrees, and Dawson gets Maybeth to go with him. At the fair, Dawson gets very upset seeing Cliff and Jen together, and ends up ignoring Maybeth. They talk, and Dawson finds out that Maybeth really likes Cliff. So when all four ride the ferris wheel, Maybeth quickly grabs Cliff so that she can be with him and Dawson can be with Jen. The ferris wheel stops when Jen and Dawson are at the top, and they start talking. Eventually, it comes out (I think) that Dawson still likes Jen, but Jen broke up with him not because she was sick of guys but cuz she was sick of him.
Meanwhile, Pacey fails his Marine Biology midterm, so he has to do an extra credit project. He ends up with Joey as his partner, and they decide to do a project on snail reproduction. Pacey puts a canibal snail in the tank, so the other snails are eaten and Joey and Pacey have to go get some new ones. They row out to somewhere on the creek, but their boat floats away so they have to swim back. Then they change into blankets so they won't get too cold. Later, they join up with Dawson and crew at the fair. Pacey asks Dawson if he would mind if he kisses Joey, cuz during the day he developed a "thang" for her. Dawson says yes, then no, then finally yes. So later that night, Pacey kisses her, but Joey tells him that she only sees him as a friend. The show ends with Pacey telling Dawson what happened, and asking him whether he likes Jen or Joey.
