Tommy swiftly turned around and walked back to the hiding spot. "Deron, grab your gear. There's going to be a change in plans."
"What? We've already come this far."
"No, we're not leaving," Tommy corrected. "We just gotta find another way to get to the west section."
"Why?" Deron wondered as he walked over to the corner. "What could possibly be over here?" Deron peaked around the corner, took one look at the Red Senturion fleet, and promptly concurred, "Change in plans."
"Right," Tommy said as he grabbed the portable terminal. "Maybe we can take the corridor to the north side, then sneak our way to the west corridors."
As Deron saddled up his backpack, he argued, "But the northern corridors are known for being tougher to break into than a camp."
"That may be true," Tommy grinned, "but did the people who said that have this?" He waved the portable terminal around.
Deron just laughed. "I love that thing. I wish we knew it existed about 10 years ago."
Slowly, Tommy and Deron stuck to the walls, making sure to avoid the Senturion patrols. Luckily for them, a door that led straight into the inner corridors was only a block away.
Tommy pulled out the now familiar portable terminal and plugged it into the computer access pathways. "Deron, what was the ID number, again?"
Deron fumbled with his backpack as he pulled out the slip of paper again. "03H37," Deron recited.
Tommy entered the code in and was rewarded with the opening of the corridor entrance. "Man," Tommy smiled, shaking his head, "isn't Erasmus ever gonna figure out that we have his Senturion's terminal?"
Suddenly, alarms began sounding everywhere. On the computer screen, Tommy could clearly make out a red circle on the map of the fortress, right where they were standing. Deron quickly hurried over to the display, where he saw what Tommy was looking at.
"I'd say he already has," Deron responded needlessly to Tommy's comment. "Change in plans?"
"I'd say so." And they bolted into the corridor for their lives.
