JT: You're doing what?
GLORY: I'm trying out for cheerleader.
JT: Why do you want to do that?
GLORY: Because I think it'll be fun.
JT lay back on Glory's bed with his feet hanging off of the side.
GLORY: What's wrong?
JT: With all of the time I spend in the lab and you spend with the
garden club, we hardly have any time together.
She walked over to her bed, straddled JT and sat on his stomach.
GLORY: You practically live here. You sleep here almost every night.
We see each other all the time.
JT: Yeah, but when was the last time we went out?
GLORY: We went to Garrett and Sydney's for Owen's surprise party last
night.
JT: That doesn't count. That was a group thing. When was the last time
that you and I went out alone on a date?
Glory thought for a few moments.
GLORY: I don't really remember.
JT: Exactly.
GLORY: If you want to go on a date, all you have to do is ask.
JT: Fine, what are you doing tonight?
GLORY: Ooh, sorry. I already have plans tonight.
JT: What?! What are doing?
GLORY: Well, I was planning on having sex with my boyfriend. But hey,
I can always cancel.
JT: No, no. We'll just go out tomorrow night.
Glory lay down on top of JT and started kissing him wildly.

Sandy watched Saja sleep. He looked so peaceful. When he was awake, he
looked so worried. She ran her finger across his cheek. His eyes slowly
opened.
SAJA: What are you doing up?
SANDY: Nightmare.
SAJA: Come here.
She cuddled into his embrace. Sandy had been having the same
nightmare since the trial. In the dream, Billy Gunn was set free and
raped her again and again. It was so traumatizing that she and Saja had
not had sex since before her nineteenth birthday.
SANDY: I'm so sick of this. I just want one night that I can sleep and
not dream.
SAJA: It's just going to take time.
SANDY: It's been almost a year and a half. How much time is it gonna
take?
SAJA: What'd your shrink say?
SANDY: That maybe I should try to replace it with a positive memory.
SAJA: How does she suggest you do that?
Sandy spoke in a soft voice.
SANDY: She suggested that maybe you and I should…
SAJA: And what do you think?
SANDY: That I love you, and you've been more than patient with me.
SAJA: I'll wait for you forever.
SANDY: We could try. I mean, if you want to.
SAJA: Sandy, my love, this isn't about what I want. This is about what
you're ready for.
SANDY: I don't know what I'm ready for, but I think I'm ready to find
out.
SAJA: We'll stop whenever you say.
They began to kiss and sank back into the bed.

Ashlee sat at the desk in her new apartment as Neil lay on the
couch watching television.
ASHLEE: I am never gonna get this syllabus done by the first day of
school. Why are they insisting I teach a class?
NEIL: Because it's part of your graduate program.
ASHLEE: Well, I don't want to do this anymore.
Neil got up from the couch, walked over to her and put his hands
on her shoulders. Then he began to massage them.
NEIL: You're just stressing. Calm down.
ASHLEE: This coming from the "king of stress".
Neil took the pen out of Ashlee's hand and placed it on the desk.
NEIL: Come on.
ASHLEE: It's after midnight.
NEIL: I know. Come on.
Ashlee got up, slipped on her shoes and followed Neil out the
door. Before she knew it, they were driving down the road heading toward
the lake.
ASHLEE: Why are we going to the lake?
NEIL: Because you need to relax.
ASHLEE: And how exactly are you going to relax me?
NEIL: I thought we'd spread out a blanket and look at the stars.
ASHLEE: You know, for a scientist, you are very romantic.
He grabbed her hand and squeezed it.
NEIL: Shh. Don't let that get around. I have a reputation to protect.

Nancy collapsed on Owen. Both of them were breathing heavily and
Owen was smiling.
NANCY: What?
OWEN: I missed this, not just the sex, the closeness.
NANCY: Me too. Sex is completely different sober.
OWEN: How so?
NANCY: I feel more, emotionally.
Nancy rolled off of Owen and lay on her side.
NANCY: You know, it's strange.
OWEN: What's strange?
NANCY: After everything I've said and after everything I've done, you're
still my friend.
OWEN: So, is that all we are … just friends?
NANCY: No, not just friends. You are so much more than just my friend.
OWEN: Are you ready to be mine again?
Tears filled her eyes.
NANCY: I never stopped being yours. Not in my heart.

The phone woke Grant from his peaceful slumber.
GRANT III: What?!
MILA: Did I wake you?
GRANT III: Hey baby. Yeah, but I don't mind, it's you. How's your mom?
MILA: She had her last treatment today. Her doctor wants her to stay in
Houston for a month to make sure she's okay.
GRANT III: So you're gonna be gone another month?
She could hear the disappointment in his voice.
MILA: No, I'll be home this weekend.
GRANT III: You will?
His voice was now filled with excitement.
MILA: I don't know about you, but I can't wait. I've missed you so much.
GRANT III: I was just down there two weeks ago.
MILA: True, but I miss home.
GRANT III: Swans Crossing is gorgeous right now.
MILA: I wasn't talking about Swans Crossing. I was talking about our
apartment, our home.

Sydney sat in the rocking chair, holding her twenty-month-old
daughter and trying to sooth her. Emily had a fever, which was caused by
the ear infection that was causing her pain. She was finally asleep.
Sydney placed Emily in her bed, turned the monitor on and went back to
her room. She dropped her robe to the floor and climbed into her bed.
Garrett turned to face her.
GARRETT: She finally go out?
SYDNEY: Yes. I think it was more from exhaustion then from relief. … I
hate this. She's never sick.
GARRETT: It had to happen sooner or later.
SYDNEY: I just hate seeing her in pain.
Emily began sobbing. Sydney started to get up, but Garrett
stopped her.
GARRETT: I'll go.
SYDNEY: Bring her in here.
He kissed her softly.
GARRETT: Anything for you my love.
Garrett got out of bed and headed out the door. Sydney listened
as he entered their daughter's room.
GARRETT: What's wrong babygirl?
EMILY: I sick Dada.
Sydney smiled. She knew with those three words Garrett had
melted.

Callie and Jimmy were sleeping soundly when the phone rang.
Jimmy answered it.
JIMMY: Hello? … What? … Hold on.
Jimmy gently began to shake Callie.
CALLIE: What?
JIMMY: Your dad's on the phone.
She took the phone from him.
CALLIE: What's up Dad? … It's three o'clock in the morn … This can't
wait until daylight? … Could you at least give me a hint? … … … I'm
here. … Okay, um, let me get dressed and I'll be over. … Bye.
She handed the phone to Jimmy and got out of bed.
JIMMY: What was that about?
Callie seemed to be in a trance.
JIMMY: Callie?
She shook and placed her hand over her mouths.
CALLIE: Um … He thinks he's found my mother.
