						Glory's Diary - August 8
Dear Diary,
My oldest brother Grant is getting ready to leave for school again.
I'll miss him even though I know he's coming back for Thanksgiving, so I'll
try to be patient. Garrett will be happy to have his room to himself again,
but on the other hand, Grant has a roommate even at college. They always
told me that before I was born, they couldn't understand why they had to
have another brother (or sister, they never even thought about Mom having a
girl). They didn't want to share a room even then just as much now. I guess
both of them wanted to be an only child! It wasn't so funny when I was
little but that was okay too because when I ran to Mom or Dad, Grant and
Garrett were sent to their room as punishment. What's really funny is that
now they get too overprotective and I can't get rid of them. I think
jealousy and revenge are sweet. Oh, the phone's ringing, maybe it's J.T. My
love! Bye!

						J.T.'s Journal - August 8
I was in the lab today with Neil and Nora. I think they work well together,
but I don't know if they'll work outside the lab. I asked her if she has any
other interests. She seems friendly enough to fit in with the Swans Crossing
kids but Neil still ignored her. He said, "We've got too much to do today
to socialize, guys" in a serious tone, and he didn't look up when he said
it either. I hope he's not mad at us. I asked my mom what she thought and
she agreed, "Neil could use a love." Dad said I should be careful not to use
either of them in bad ways or they might mistrust me. I called Glory but
we've both been so busy that we haven't had time to spend together. This
week we've only talked on the phone. I guess distance really does make the
heart grow fonder. That is if I've never been fond of her before! I'm tired,
good night.

						Glory's Diary - August 9
Salutations!
I've got some good news; Garrett and Sydney are back together! When
she called me she was so excited, she was screaming. Garrett has been
whistling, jumping, and high-fiving everybody all over the place. Yes, I
think they must be a happy couple. J.T. called this morning and he told me
my brother answered with, "Hello, and how are you on this beee-autiful
morning?!", before he even asked who he was speaking to. Not very Garrett-
like, huh? I think they are going out tonight and we are going out tomorrow.
J.T. and I had lunch at Swan's today with Neil and their new lab partner,
Nora. She's really nice and I can't wait until we get back to school and she
can meet everybody. After lunch, they both had to go home so J.T. and I
walked to his house. We think that if Neil and Nora have enough in common,
maybe we can get them to date. I didn't ask her what she thought of him yet
because I'd like to get to know her first. Goodnight :-0 (yawn)

						J.T.'s Journal - August 9
Hey! I think Glory and I need to do something really fun with Buckyball and
Nora. We should go to a movie or dancing. I just don't know who wants to do
what stuff. I bet that doesn't make sense. We didn't do any lab work today
but there are some experiments I'd like to try tomorrow. I wrote down my
ideas in my notebook but I don't see it around. Maybe it's in one of the
pockets of my bike. I remember writing in it this morning, carrying it out
to my bike in the garage, picking up Glory at her house, riding to Swans,
and showing it to Neil. Then he passed it to Nora. I bet one of them must
have it. Man, I hope so because if I can't find it, we may be in real
trouble. I thought the "Baldies" left, I don't want to deal with them again!
Gotta make some phone calls. Later!

						Glory's Diary - August 10
Helloooooo!
I had breakfast with J.T., Neil, and Nora. Yes, again
today. (We have been spending a lot of time together, us four, haven't
we?) This time at Swan's we introduced Nora to Sydney, Garrett, Grant,
Mila, and Callie. Callie was getting food to go for Jimmy, Saja, and
Herself. She said they have a lot of work to do today on the bikes at the
shop but her and Jimmy have gotten a lot closer. She told me their night
is usually Friday. They try to do something together even if it's fixing
and engine, star gazing, or cloud watching. How romantic! Mila and Grant
are making good friends, at least that's their story. I told Mila we
should do something together soon. I wish we could have an end of the
summer party or something. We'll see. Maybe I should call Mila right
now. mmmmm Bye.

						J.T.'s Journal - August 10
Oh my gosh, this is making me nervous. I still don't know where my
notebook is. I mean if you don't know a lot about chemicals and math
formulas, you might not understand my abbreviations and numbers, but still
I'm worried. When I told Buckyball today, at first he was angry but then
he got to thinking about how to find it and get back. He comes up with
crazy ideas sometimes. Glory and Nora were trying to help us out at
Swan's and then everybody in the restaurant heard us and asked what the
problem was. So anyway now practically the whole town of Swan's Crossing
is searching for my notebook. I feel kinda weird and stupid. When Glory
saw me frown, she took my hands in hers, and told me she'd help me any
way she could. I put my head on her shoulder and kissed her hands. I'm
really grateful for her support. Goodnight.

						Glory's Diary - August 11
Dear Diary,
Oh I feel so bad for J.T. I just talked to him and he sounded
depressed. I wish I could do something to cheer him up, or even better
find his notebook for him. I'm trying not to be down but it's hard to
bring others up. I called Mila and Sydney. We are meeting tomorrow at
Mila's house to discuss party ideas. We just like to use any excuse to
party. Last year Sydney had a pool party at the Country Club and it was
cool but this year we should do something way different. Syd was
relieved that she didn't have to host another party event all on her
own. I don't want to have a party at our house and I bet Mila doesn't
either. Callie's sub is to small, Nora is to new, but maybe I'll talk to
Nancy and Sandy. Maybe us girls can sweet talk the guys into hosting an
event. Sneaky mmmm? It's late and I have to get up early so bye.

						J.T.'s Journal - August 11
More bad news; I still haven't found my notebook yet. It's hard to be
down when everyone is trying to keep me up. I've checked all over my
house, Neil's house, the labs, Swan's, the streets, and lots of lost and
found bins. So far our handsome reward is: $1 in change, a stale corn
chip, and a torn up tennis ball. Buckyball has made me retrace my steps
to many times to count and still nothing. We decided that we should go
on with the experiments we could remember anyway so we don't waste time.
Today, most of them worked out like we expected or better so at any rate
I think we are all pretty satisfied. Morning Glory told me she's
planning a party before school starts. I'll try to have a good time and
help out anyway I can. She said she'd also remember that when they plan
activities. I think we need to go out on Friday or Saturday night. We
have a lot of fun on our dates. I'll call her tomorrow. Bye.
