Owen and Nancy walked toward the front door of the Walker
Estate.

OWEN: Are you going to be okay here tonight?

NANCY: What are you talking about?

OWEN: Well, there's gonna be a lot of people drinking. I just don't
want you to be tempted.

Nancy rolled her eyes and glared at her new husband.

NANCY: Believe me Owen, I don't need a party to tempt me to drink.

OWEN: What do you mean by that?

Nancy grabbed his hand and squeezed it.

NANCY: Nothing. I just got into another argument with my mother today.
Let's just go into the party and have fun.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Elia walked through the room searching for his oldest daughter.
He spotted her standing with Sydney by the bar. He walked over to them.

ELIA: Happy birthday Callie.

	He hugged her.

CALLIE: Thanks Dad. Do you want a drink?

ELIA: No thanks dear. I'm going to take my leave now. Enjoy your
party.

CALLIE: I wish you'd stay.

	His hand caressed her face.

ELIA: My darling daughter, enjoy you friends. I'm going to your in-
laws to help spoil my grandson. I do however have a small favor to ask
of you.

CALLIE: Anything for you Dad.

ELIA: Please keep an eye on your sister and her young man. They are
becoming quite close.

SYDNEY: Don't worry Captain Walker. I have orders from Aunt Mary to
watch them too.

ELIA: Well then, have a wonderful party.

CALLIE: I will, thank you.

Elia walked through the crowd of people and headed out the door.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Codi and David stood in the corner of the room. Her back was
pressed against his chest and arms were wrapped around her waist.

CODI: This is so boring.

DAVID: I agree. Do you want to go somewhere else?

CODI: I can't. I promised my dad that I'd stay here.

Codi got quiet and then she smiled really big. David turned her
around to face him.

DAVID: What's going through that beautiful mind of yours?

CODI: Well, I told him that I'd stay here. I didn't say I'd
necessarily stay at the party. Come with me.

She took his hand and led him out back toward the pool.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Nancy and Mila were standing by one of the food tables.

MILA: So how's married life Nancy?

	Nancy answered sarcastically.

NANCY: Oh, it's just one big thrill after another.

MILA: Are you and Owen having problems already?

	Nancy shook her head.

NANCY: No, it's not that. My parent's are being assholes about the
whole thing. You know it's funny. Garrett and Sydney graduated from
high school, eloped to Las Vegas, came home and not only announced that
they were married, but that she was pregnant and everybody was like …
okay. Owen's stood beside me no matter what I've done and all my
parents keep harping on is the fact that he doesn't have a real job.

MILA: But he and Sandy are really starting to go somewhere. Surely
they can see that.

NANCY: I wish I had your optimism.

MILA: Maybe I can give his career a little push. I'll give my Uncle
Bobby a call and see what he can do.

NANCY: That might help. Thank you.

MILA: If anybody deserves a little bit of happiness, it's you and Owen.

As every party usually goes, all of the guys ended up
congregated together.

GARRETT: So how are you getting along with the in-laws?

	Owen grimaced at that word.

JIMMY: That good huh?

OWEN: Nancy's miserable. I'm getting scared that she's gonna slip.

SAJA: Have you tried to talk to them yourself?

OWEN: Have you ever tried to have a conversation with the Robbins?
Nothing concerns them. When Nancy ran away, they could have cared less.
When she came back and caused her little scene last year, they put her
in rehab, and the only reason they did that was because it was socially
acceptable.

JIMMY: That's pretty screwed.

Jimmy felt arms wrap around his waist.

JIMMY: Are you enjoying the party?

He turned around and looked into Callie's face.

CALLIE: Very much. Have you seen Codi and David?

JIMMY: No. Why?

CALLIE: I haven't seen them in about an hour.

GARRETT: I think I saw them head out toward the pool.

CALLIE: It's freezing out there.

JT: Maybe they've found a way to keep warm.

Callie eyes shot daggers at him.

JT: Sorry.

GARRETT: I'll go find them.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Codi and David were lying in a very large lounge chair by the
pool. Their arms were wrapped around each other and her head was
resting on his chest.

CODI: You've got a weird heartbeat.

DAVID: What do you mean?

CODI: Well, it depends on where my hand is.

She put her hand on his chest.

CODI: If it's here, it's normal.

She put her hand on his stomach.

CODI: When it's here, it starts to beat faster. And when it's here…

Before Codi could place her hand on his upper thigh, David
grabbed her hand and held it in his own.

DAVID: I get it now.

	Codi snuggled into him.

CODI: This is so much better than that boring party inside.

DAVID: You're not too cold?

CODI: Nope. You generate a lot of body heat.

DAVID: I could generate more.

She lay a little more on top of him.

CODI: And how can you do that?

He put his hand on the back of her head and brought her lips
down to his. Codi deepened the kiss and her hands had woven themselves
into his hair. Things were heating up quickly when Garrett spotted
them.

GARRETT: Ahem.

Garrett got no response, so he cleared his throat a little
louder.

GARRETT: Ahem!

	Codi and David broke apart.

GARRETT: Callie's looking for you.

CODI: Figures.

She got up and grabbed David's hand and helped him up. They
started walking back toward the house. David looked at Garrett.

DAVID: Thanks a lot man.

Garrett laughed at David's sarcastic tone.

GARRETT: Being a teenager sucks man.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

The rest of the evening was going off without a hitch, which in
itself was amazing for a Swans Crossing party. Sydney walked up to
Callie and put her arm around her shoulder.

SYDNEY: So how's it feel to finally be legal?

CALLIE: It's funny. When we were in high school, drinking was such a
big deal, but now, it's kinda pointless.

SYDNEY: That's what Garrett said when he turned twenty-one.

Garrett walked up behind Sydney and put his arms around her
waist.

GARRET: What did I say?

SYDNEY: That I'm the most beautiful woman in the world.

Garrett kissed that side of her neck.

GARRETT: Without a doubt.

	Callie smiled.

CALLIE: Were they out by the pool?

GARRETT: Yeah.

SYDNEY: Who?

CALLIE: Codi and David. Weren't they cold?

	Garrett smiled and laughed.

GARRETT: Not with the heat they were generating.

SYDNEY: I think it's sweet.

CALLIE: Yeah, it's sweet, but think back to the way it was when you and
Garrett were fifteen.

Garrett pulled Sydney closer to him.

SYDNEY: I'm so glad Em's only two. At least we have a few years before
her hormones take over.

CALLIE: I am too damn young to be the mother of a teenager.

SYDNEY: Then stop being her mother and just be her older sister.

Jimmy came up beside her and put his arm around her waist.

JIMMY: Easier said than done. As long as she lives here, she's our
responsibility.

CALLIE: Besides that, our mother dumped her, at least I had Dad.

Sydney looked at Codi and David snuggled up in a corner. They
were talking, laughing and kissing.

SYDNEY: Maybe there's something we could get her involved in.
Something that would give she and David more time apart.

GARRETT: Jeez Margaret, I didn't know you had possessed my wife?

Sydney pulled a single hair on Garrett's arm and he winced in
pain.

GARRETT: Ow! Sorry.

JIMMY: Come on, this is a party.

Jimmy looked around and noticed that a lot of the people had
gone.

JIMMY: Well, it's what's left of a party.

Sydney looked down at her watch and then at Garrett.

SYDNEY: Ooh honey, we need to get David home. It's almost one.

She gave Callie a big hug.

SYDNEY: I'll call you later.

CALLIE: Okay. Good luck prying those two apart.

	They looked at Garrett.

GARRETT: Hey, don't look at me. I did it last time.

Sydney rolled her eyes and then yelled over to David.

SYDNEY: We're leaving David.

Codi looked up into David's eyes.

CODI: This really bites.

DAVID: I'll call you when I wake up and then we'll spend the day
together … alone.

He leaned in and kissed her. Codi walked him out to the car.

CODI: I'll probably be up by ten.

DAVID: Then that's when I'll wake up and call you.

CODI: Night David.

He kissed her good night and got in the car.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

It was like everyone still took their cues from Sydney and
Garrett. Once they had left, everyone else decided to leave also. By
one-thirty all of the guest were gone and Codi had gone to bed. Callie
and Jimmy headed up to their bedroom. Jimmy took off his shirt, flopped
backwards on the bed and kicked his shoes off. Callie climbed onto the
bed and straddled him.

CALLIE: Thank you for my party.

He put his hands behind his head.

JIMMY: You are more than welcome.

Callie looked down at Jimmy and smiled sweetly. It had been
over six years and she was amazed at how he still made her feel. He
moved his hands to her hips and began to move them up her back.

JIMMY: What are you thinking about?

CALLIE: How much I love you.

Callie leaned forward and kissed him. She felt him harden
beneath her and then sat back up and ground her bottom into him. Jimmy
groaned.

JIMMY: What do you think you're doing young lady?

CALLIE: For your information I'm an official legal adult. I can
legally walk into anywhere and buy liquor. As for what I am doing, I'm
considering unwrapping my last gift. It's a real … big one.

Jimmy loved the way the weight of her body felt on him.

JIMMY: Why don't you let me unwrap you first?

He sat up and pulled the green dress that she was wearing over
her head. A growl escaped his throat. He put his arms around her and
began covering her bare chest with kisses. Callie began to feel dizzy.

CALLIE: I really think you need to get naked now.

Jimmy lay back on the bed and Callie quickly unbuttoned and
unzipped his black jeans. She was extremely excited to see that he had
gone commando. He raised his hips and allowed her to divest him of his
pants. Callie was about to go down on him when Jimmy stopped her and
pulled her down on top of him.

JIMMY: It's your birthday. This is for you.

He rolled her over so that he was on top and looked deep into
her eyes.

CALLIE: I love you so much.

JIMMY: I love you too.

He started kissing down her neck, across her breast and down
her stomach. As he began pleasuring her with his talented tongue,
Callie's body began to respond. She was arching off of the bed. Her
feet were resting on Jimmy's back and the closer she came to completion,
the harder her toes would dig into his back.

CALLIE: Jimmy … oh yeah … ooh, right there.

JIMMY: Baby you're killing my back.

CALLIE: Oh … sorry … OH GOD!

She poured into Jimmy's mouth. Her body slowly calmed down.

CALLIE: That was amazing.

Jimmy crawled up her body and kissed her.

JIMMY: It's far from over. Happy birthday baby.
