Glory jumped up from seat in the living room chair when she heard the
doorbell and rushed to the door. Neil Atwater had called her 15 minutes
ago and told her he was back and was coming over as soon as he could.
Neil and Glory became extremely close during their senior year. They were
both dealing with the J.T.'s sudden changes and eventually the loss of him.
J.T. became sort of a high school hero their senior year when he scored the
winning touchdown in the Maine Interscholastic Sports League Championship
game. Swans Crossing won the game and J.T. suddenly became a big deal. All
the fame and attention went to J.T.'s head and he really changed. He
dropped Neil as his best friend and started to hang with the people that
would compliment him 24/7. This is also when his relationship with Glory
got rocky. He had started to party and drink all the time. These two
things are what led to the downfall of their relationship. His ego also
needed major inflation. Glory now considered Neil her best friend. They
talked on the phone at least once a week, and e-mailed each other almost
every day. Neil knew what was going on in Glory's life as well as Glory
did.

Glory opened the door with a huge smile and greeted Neil with a huge hug,
"Hey Handsome."

Neil hugs her back tightly, "Hi, beautiful. I missed you," They separate
from their embrace and Glory pulls him into the house.

Neil takes his place on the couch and Glory sits across from him in an
empty chair, "So, how was your flight?"

Neil shrugs, "Ahh, the usual. So how does it feel to be home and know we
are stuck here for three whole months."

Glory chuckles quietly, "Actually, I am looking forward to it. Chicago
is great and all but sometimes I miss this little burb, and the gang."

"You mean some of the gang," Neil remarks.

Glory smiles slightly, "Actually, well you know better than anyone how I
couldn't stand the sight of J.T. and Nancy when I left and than during
X-mas it was still hard, but now I can do nothing but thank the two of
them. They are, after all the reason why I took a big look at my life and
changed what I didn't like."

Neil nods, "That's almost too mature of ya, but I know what you mean. I
doubt J.T. and Nancy will be hanging with us a lot though. Considering
after what she did to you, no one can really stand her all that much and
well J.T. isn't exactly Mr. Popularity either with everyone."

"Everyone has changed so much over the past year. Christmas break was
only a little preview of the changes that we have all gone through over
the year. I have a feeling that in the next three months we will find out
if we either still like each other or if we can't stand the sight or
each other after being joined at the hip in high school," Glory say's
thoughtfully.

"True, very true. Oh well, guess will find out tonight at the 'Hello to
Summer' party at the country club."

The two of them are interrupted by the sound of the door opening. Glory
turns around and jumps up when she sees who it is...."Garrett and
Jimmy," she rushes over to them and gives them both hugs, while Neil
stands up and the guys formally shake hands.

"Hey, little sis," Garrett say's cheerfully, "Boy, is it great to see you
again."

Garrett takes a place in the other chair in the living room and Jimmy
sits next to Neil on the couch.

Jimmy looks at Glory, "So, have you heard from Callie yet..."

Garrett cuts him off, "Or Sydney, when does their flight get in?"

Neil looks at the two of them and grins, "Well, looks like things haven't
changed that much."

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Mila picks up the phone and dials J.T.'s voice mail number, she presses *5
so she doesn't have to hear J.T.'s recorded message and speaks into the
phone nervously. "Hi J.T., It's me. Can you call my as soon as possible.
It's an emergency and I really need to talk to you. If you don't call, I
will just see you at the party but this is something I really need to
talk to you in private about. Just call me."

Mila exhales loudly, "I am so, so screwed," she mutters.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Callie and Sydney are relaxing in Sydney's room. Their plane landed about
2 hours ago and they were greeted by Mrs. Rutledge and Captain Walker.
After going home to the Walker House which is down the street from
Sydney's, Callie decided to spend some time with Sydney before they got
ready for the party.

Sydney and Callie both look at the phone waiting for it to ring, "Maybe
Garrett or Jimmy aren't back in town yet," Sydney say's.

Callie frowns, "They both should be. In fact, I think Jimmy returned home
like a week ago."

Sydney lays down on her bed, "So maybe they don't know we are back. I
didn't tell anyone but my mother our flight arrangements. I was too busy
packing to call Glory with the information, and Garrett had already left
for the summer so maybe we should call them?"

Suddenly Callie bursts out laughing, "Sheesh, we sound like we are
thirteen again. Waiting anxiously by the phone for the guys we like to
call and wondering why they aren't."

"The guys we love," Sydney corrects. "Well I am going to call the Booth
house. If Garrett is there I bet Jimmy is with him. Those two are as
close as you and I are.

Callie hands Sydney her phone, "You are probably right."

Sydney dials the number to the Booth house and smiles as she hears Glory's
voice come over the line, "Glory, hi!"

Glory screams, "Sydney, hey you! When did you get back."

"About two hours ago, I'm at my house with Callie, is your brother....."

Before Sydney can finish Garrett grabs the phone out of her sister's
hand, "Hey babe."

"Garrett," Sydney say's breathlessly.

"Where are you?"

"I'm at my house, with Callie."

Garrett smiles and motions Jimmy to come near him, "Well Jimmy and I are
coming over right now than."

Sydney smiles at Callie, and puts her hand over the receiver, "Jimmy is
with Garrett and they are coming over right now," she takes her hand off
of the receiver, "Sounds good Garrett, tell Glory to come over too!! I
missed her so much."

Sydney hangs up, "Ahhh, me and Garrett will finally be together again.
Life is certainly perfect."

Part 3:

J.T. is standing by a table in the corner at the, "Welcome Back To Summer"
party at the country club. He looks around and than secretly takes out a
tiny flask and takes a swig from it.

Nancy comes up from behind him and taps him on the shoulder, "I saw that
Mr. Adams. I won't tell if you let me have some. Alcohol seems to be the
only thing that will make this dull party bearable."

J.T. smiles slightly and hands Nancy the flask, "Nancy, long time no see."

Nancy takes a sip and makes a weird face, "This stuff is strong. What do
you have in here?"

J.T. shrugs, "A little bit of everything. Guess, I should have warned you."

Nancy takes out a cigarette and offers him one, J.T. shakes his head, "That
stuff will kill ya."

Nancy rolls her eyes, "And drinking stuff like that won't. Nowadays
smoking is the only thing that keeps me sane."

"Life ain't treating you too good."

Nancy sighs, "Life is treating me the way it has always treated me. Damn,
this is a no smoking section. I'll be back in 10 minutes. Try not to have
any fun without me."

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Sydney and Garrett are sitting across from each other on one of the pool
chairs, "You are still so beautiful," Garrett murmurs softly into her
ear.

Sydney smiles, "you expected me to change."

"No, you know what I mean. Being apart from you taught me one thing
though."

"And what would that be Mr. Booth?"

Garrett leans closer to her and whispers, "Not to take our love for
granted. What do you say we get out of here."

"But, we just got here. Saja, Owen, and Sandy aren't even here yet, I'd
at least like to say hi to them."

"We will see them tomorrow, besides this party is just going to be one
big yawn. It's all about making appearances. And I haven't gotten to
spend more than three minutes with you alone, so sue me if I want to
spend time with the person I love."

Sydney gets up quickly and pulls Garrett up with her, " Well when you put
it that way, let's get out of here."

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Mila goes up to J.T. nervously, "Hey J.T."

"Hey, Mila. When did you get back?"

" Yesterday, I had so much stuff to pack up that I left a day later than
everyone in the dorms. J.T., didn't you get my message."

J.T. nods, "Oh yeah but I figured I would see you here so.....Anyways,
whats up?"

Mila exhales loudly, "Maybe we should sit down," she motions toward an
empty table and chair.

J.T. shrugs, "whatever."

Mila takes her seat and stares at J.T. nervously, "Umm, well remember when
we slept together that one night at the party and well we didn't use
protection."

"So, we slept together at a lot of parties."

"J.T., I might be pregnant."

J.T. looks at Mila with a look of shock and than quickly covers it, "Are
you sure?"

"Well, I haven't gone to a doctor yet but I took a home pregnancy test
and I'm 4 weeks late."

"So maybe you are pregnant, but what makes you so sure that it's mine."

Mila glares at J.T., "What do you mean, you know you are the only guy I
have been with since January."

"That's not what I heard. I know about Mark Jacobs and Roger Lewis."

Mila blushes, "I never slept with them."

"Well, that's not what everyone is saying at the frat house. Seems you
have quite a little reputation going for you there Mila. No wonder you
have gotten so good over the past few months."

"Your such a jerk when you drink. You know that, right?"

"That's not what you said last week, hun."

Mila stands up furiously, "How could I have ever trusted you. You know
what, J.T.? Your right, if I am pregnant your not the father. I would
rather have this baby on my own than have it exposed to your drinking,
partying, and all the other dirty habits you have picked up. Go to hell!"

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Callie clings to Jimmy tightly as they dance to a slow song. "Looks, like
Garrett and Syd. ditched," Callie whispers.

"They had the right idea."

"Why, I'm having fun? Aren't you?"

"Walker woman, I would be having fun anywhere, just as long as you are
with me."

Callie smiles, looks around and gives Jimmy a kiss on the lips. Jimmy
pulls away slowly, "You sure you don't wanna follow in the footsteps of
our very smart friends."

"As tempting as that sounds, not now."

They are interrupted by a tap on Callie's shoulder. Callie turns around
slowly and comes face to face with Saja.

"Hey guys."

Callie smiles, "Saja!" The two of them hug and than Jimmy and Saja also
hug.

Callie puts her arm around Saja's waist, "I have missed you so much over
the past year. We have some catching up to do. Come on, let's go sit
down." Callie and Saja link arms and walk over to three empty chairs, and
Jimmy follows slowly, "There goes our alone time, " he mutters.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Garrett and Sydney are sitting on her porch watching the stars quietly.
"Did you see the way Nancy was drooling over J.T. tonight. Sheesh, that girl
will never give up," Sydney says with distaste.

"Don't even get me started on Nancy. My roommates brother goes to
University of Florida and it seems that good ole Nancy has made a name
for herself.""

"I can't believe how much she has changed though. I can't believe that we
were ever so close."

Garrett chuckles, "Nancy would have always done anything for you."

"And I always knew it, and used her for it. My own private cheerleader. I
am so glad that Callie came to town that summer. Her friendship really
changed me, made me a better person. A person that wouldn't be caught
dead pledging a sorority. I can't believe that neither of us became
Greeks this year. Both would have been choice candidates."

Garrett smiles, "You don't regret it do you?"

Sydney nods, "Not at all. That is definitely not my scene. I am not
willing to put my life on the line to pledge sisterhood with girls that I
probably wouldn't even like."

Garrett stares at Sydney with a big smile on his face.

"What? Why are you staring at me like that? Do I have something in my
teeth or something," Sydney questions.

"No, it's not that. I was just thinking about how far you and I have
come. We sure showed our parents, huh. They never thought that we would
even last 6 months."

Sydney smiles, "Garrett, no one thought we would last. Not even our
friends, because of our checkered history."

"True, but what counted was we never had doubts, and well looks like we
were right."

Sydney gets out of her chair and sits lightly on Garrett's lap, "We sure
were."

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Callie walks past one of the pool cabanas and hears someone crying, she
peeks in as sees that it is Mila. "Are you okay, Mila?"

Mila looks up and wipes her eyes, "Oh, yeah everything is just hunky
dory."

Callie takes a seat by Mila, "Whats the matter?"

Mila looks at Callie for a few minutes and than begins to speak, "I can't
keep this in anymore and I have to tell someone. Will you promise not to
tell anyone?" Callie nods. "There is a chance that I could be pregnant."

Callie gasps quietly, "What are you going to do?"

"I don't know, Callie. I have no idea at all."

Mila gets up, and smoothes out her dress, "I should get going."

Callie stands up, "Mila, Wait! Is your mom going to be home."

Mila nods, "No, she's in France visiting our cousins. Just me myself and
I all alone in that big house."

"Well, your not going home than. Come to my house tonight. My dad is also
away in New York on business for the night and we can talk. You shouldn't
be alone tonight. I don't want you to be alone. I know we haven't been all
that close for awhile but I would like that to change"

"Thank you Callie. That is probably the most sweetest things any of my
friends have ever said to me. You sure that Jimmy won't mind though. You
two have been apart for about 6 months now, don't you want to be alone?"

Callie grins, "Don't worry about Jimmy. He'll understand. Now lets get
out of here. I think there is about a quart of vanilla ice cream waiting
for us in my freezer."

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Saja, Jimmy, and Neil are sitting at a booth at Swans after the party
and catching up on each others lives.

Saja looks at Neil, "So, buddy what's going on with you and Glory?"

Neil looks at him with a confused look, "What do you mean? Were just
good friends."

Jimmy smiles, "Yeah, the best of friends. If you want her, go for it."

"First of all, we are just good friends and even if there was something
more I wouldn't want to ruin our friendship," Neil replies.

"You are a noble man Neil," Saja says.

Jimmy looks at his watch, "I can't believe Callie bailed on me. I wonder
what's up with Mila that Callie cancelled our plans."

Saja shrugs, "Mila is one girl that's hard to understand. I have seen her
a couple times at some NYU parties but we never really talk all that
much. She and J.T. have gotten really close though."

Neil leans in, "How close?"

"Well, I can't be sure but it wouldn't surprise me if they had slept
together."

"I don't believe it, Mila's too sweet for this person that J.T. has turned
into," Jimmy says.

"Well J.T. has changed and it's possible that Mila really has too," Saja
replies.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Callie is listening to her messages in her room while Mila has fallen
asleep in the guest room.... "Hey Cal, it's me Grant. Well I have had a
change of plans. I won't be spending the next year in England after all.
It's a long story I will explain later. But since this has happened maybe
things won't have to change between us. Just an idea. Call me..." Callie
re-listens to this message one more time and than walks into the kitchen,
"Great," she mutters. "What am I going to do? Just as things start to get
started with Jimmy, Grant pops up again. "
