Richie Sambora Chat 21-10-96

The following is a transcript of the online chat with Richie Sambora. It took place Monday, October 21st 1996 from the Guitar Center in Hollywood. Most of these Q&A originated from the IRC chat, although some were from the live audience.

Richie: Hi everybody, it's great to be here.
MaryLynn: LOVE YOU RICHIE!!!
Dreaman: Hi Richie!
Richie: Damn, fine!

Heather1: When exactly is the solo album coming out?
Richie: The solo album should be out now.

sir-percy: Do you remember the show in Luxembourg? Did you like the country?
Richie: Luxembourg.. I do remember the show, and it was wonderful. It was the first time we played there.

dd: Will this Interactive Guitar really let me play like you?
Richie: Yes, the cd will help you play guitar as well as I do. It will have great features on it. It has a slow motion feature.

sir-percy: when will it come out in Europe?
Richie: Early next year.

MaryLynn: Canada?
Richie: Sir and Mary.. early next year!!

tak: Richie -- do you ever get nervous still?
Richie: Tak.... I get excited - but I don't think, I get too nervous anymore.

Rocknatio: Talk about the CD-ROM.
Richie: "Not Alone" is one of my new songs. What made me decide to do a CD-ROM? I was asked to do many videos. I              didn't think I had a a lot of worthwhile things. We were able to pass the information on how to play the guitar. Me               being an inspiration.... It's quite wonderful... Music is the thing we just pass onto each other. That's what we are               trying to do there - is pass it on. The cd rom can be appreciated by all levels... this is an easy thing to learn. Music is               a genre that never really stops. Eric Clapton played on my solo album... Randy Jackson played bass on a few               tracks. You can access my CD-ROM... pictures of me throughout my life with way too much hairspray.

MaryLynn: When's the new BJ comin' out?
Richie: The new Bon Jovi album... I don't know when it will be released. The band is very much intact and having a great               time. We just wanted to take a break.

Heather1: We'll be there for you when you guys come back. Can't wait! Bev: Next time you are on the net...go to #Bonjovi on the undernet.

MB: Are you live on RockNet's Webcam now?
Richie: yeah, it's at http://www.rocknet.com - then click on Webcam. Any more questions? Check out the web cam... you             can see me playing.

Bev: How's the band?
Richie: When you're a band and going through things that we've been through... wild... the guys are great.

Unknown: How old are you?
Richie: Hahha. How old am I? 37.

Dreaman: Would you tell Tico that I said hi?

Richie: How did I meet Heather? It was through an old girlfriend. She introduced me to Heather... I am still good friends with              that old girlfriend. I must have had a good report. Hahaha.
Richie: I sing to Heather too and she sings to me. We have this thing called "Stump the band."

Bev: Read you wanted to do Melrose... Would it be as Heather's love interest?
Richie: Yeah.

Bev: Any titles for the new album?
Richie: "Diamond Ring."

Kelly: Is there any chance a nice (and good looking) woman could find a nice rock and roll guy like you?
Richie: Sure!

Bev: On the Bed of Roses Video - on the mountain... did you get dizzy?
Richie: Yes I did!!

Unknown: Comments on playing with the Stones?
Richie: My feelings when I opened for the Stones... it was very very difficult. It was fantastic... That's my story and I'm               sticking to it. Haha.

tak: Will you do a solo tour?
Edware: Solo tour in the works?
Richie: I will have a solo tour. I would like to play with a lot of people... geesh.

Rock: How do you get your inspiration?
Richie: I get my inspirations... from an outsiders view... what's happening around you and personal experiences. I think that              anything that happens through your life is going to creep trough your material. You always have to play from an              emotional place. That's what I try to teach and the licks from our records... and how to tune the guitar.

Bev: You make guitar look easy.
Richie: You never stop learning.

unknown: Most embarrassing moment?
Richie: My most embarrassing experience? Farting on a date. An early date with a girl. One of those things that happen.

jj: How much is the CD-ROM?
Richie: The price of my CD-ROM is $24.95, right now.

Richie: Thanks for being here everybody... a lot!!
Heather1: It was fun! Love ya Richie!!!
MaryLynn: THANK YOU RICHIE!
tak: THANKS!
Bev: Thanks.
Yumiko: Love you, Richie!!
Heather1: Can't wait to see you on tour!

sir-percy: thanks.
