Reviews of "Chris Rock: Never Scared" by The Four Bastards

Short declaratory phrase in an attempt to get quoted in TV trailer, ad, or cover box --

"I need mo' Tussin!"

Ryan's review:

This is one of my favorite things about HBO. I remember the last Chris Rock special, BIGGER AND BLACKER, and the party we had to watch that in college. Ahh the good old days. We got a ton of beer and watched it, I laughed so hard my face hurt and I got wasted. Now I am much more mature: we had a big party, brought a shit ton of wine, and I got wasted. Chris Rock was awesome, and this special packed the same punch as his previous two. Is it funnier than his others, no, and nothing ever will be except when you get Tim drunk and convince him to streak the Zeta house on mom's day. One of the most lasting memories from last night's performance was "girls will dance to any rap music as long as it has a good beat - they don't give a fuck. Hit cha' wit a dick - hit cha wit' a dick - dick in yo' face - dick in yo' face - fuck ya' in da eye - fuck ya' in da eye." More than anything though, it felt like a live performance. It was fresh and funny, and we got a group together, went out to dinner and got home and watched it - like I said, with lots of wine. TIVO is also the greatest invention of the last - well whatever time frame TIVO was invented in plus 3 weeks.
Rating: 8 out of 10 dicks in yo' eye, bitch! It reminds us of why Dave Chappelle is still the poor man's Chris Rock. Craigers ---------------OUT.

Jason's review:

I agree mostly with what Ryan said, but I didn't like it nearly as much as he did. "Never Scared' is nowhere close to "Bigger and Blacker" or "Bring the Pain." In fact I talked to a few people who said they turned it off because it wasn't funny. It's funny, but I only laughed out loud a few times. To me the funniest part was when he said that "Jermaine Jackson is the greasiest n!&&@ on TV" which is absolutely true. Toward the middle he got way too political; you can hear it in the audience, they're not really laughing. His ending was funny too, but ending with a joke about Nelson Mandela getting divorced? Funny, but didn't that happen like 10 years ago? As for Ryan's comment about Dave Chappelle? Craiggers, have you watched Chappelle's Show? It's one of the funniest shows on television. The Chris Rock show was alright, but I have never heard a buzz about Rock's show as I have heard, "I'm Rick James bitch!" Chappelle's stand up is great too. Is Chappelle's stand up as funny as Rock? No. But their shows don't even compete. I respect your point, and it is valid, but give Chappelle credit he deserves. Also because you are queer.
Rating: 3.9 out of 5 times I wished it was funny as previous specials
