Reviews of "Sahara" by The Four Bastards

Hot Chick:  Penelope freakin' Cruz!

Hot Chick Factor: are you kidding? All that soft tan fur and those humps... oh wait

Synopsis -- Three modern-day treasure hunters team up with a doctor from the World Health Organization to find an old ironclad and trace the source of some nasty diseases! African warlords run amok and wackiness ensues.

Short declaratory phrase in an attempt to get quoted in TV trailer, ad, or cover box --

"'Sahara' is like a full-force open-handed slap in the face from the gods of comedy! Don't ever let it stop! I love it!"

Nate's review:

So yesterday, which was Sunday, I decided not to shave and just kick it, stubble style. And it was pretty cool! It saved about 5 minutes which enabled me to watch more NFL Draft, and it made me look mean and dangerous, which of course, girls love. You cannot deny, they love the bad guy, and it's not just the "convict" look. I don't know why this is, but that's a story for another column. At any rate, when I shaved this morning, it was a great one because I guess the "lift and cut" had more to try to lift and, well... cut. It pays to be an electric man. So now I'm thinking of shaving every other day so I can alternately look dangerous and then have one hell of a close shave. Watch out, ladies! Anyway, I absolutely cannot stop winning radio contests. For this one, while at the Arts Festival downtown, I stopped at the KSLY booth and proceeded to cooly pin a tail on the donkey from approximately 25 feet by shooting an arrow with a suction cup on one end and a grey felt "tail" on the other. I hit that "S.O.B." right in the ass with a blindfold on. I was so stoked about it that I ripped my blindfold off in victory, pulled another plastic arrow from my quiver, and fired a tail straight into Mr. Silly's forehead in celebration. I know, it was mean, but that guy just needs to quit being such a jackass (hence the tail). But I digress. The prize for hitting the donkey's ass (and not putting out an eye) was ducats to "Sahara."
This was a pretty enjoyable movie, for what it was. The plot is absolutely ludicrous, but come on, this is an action comedy! I love Steve Zahn. Damn that guy is funny, and so is Riann Wilson from the American version of "The Office" in the prototypical nerdy white guy role. Matthew and Penelope bring the appropriate star power (and weed stash), William H. Macy gives you some credibility, and presto! Funny times at the theater ensue. If you're in the mood for an action comedy, you could do a lot worse than this (read: "Flight of the Phoenix"). See it see it see it and shoot Mr. Silly for me.

Rating: 7.5 out of 10 exploding boats! Yowza
