Reviews of
"The Notebook" by The Four Bastards
Hot Chick: Rachel McAdams
Hot Chick Factor: 10!
Synopsis -- Think the Billy Joel song "Uptown Girl," but set in the 40s
Short declaratory phrase in an attempt to get quoted in TV trailer, ad, or cover box --
"'The Notebook' is a whirlwind of positive energy, except for all the crap about Alzheimer's!"
Nate's review:
Hey kids! First of all, let me say that if that Zach Braff movie is half as good as its trailer, it is going to kick a lot of ass. Seriously, have you seen a better trailer than that in like, years? I haven't. Second of all, how good was James Garner in this movie? Holy smokes he rocked the house. Third of all, how awesome was Rachel McAdams in this movie? I mean, she was good in "The Hot Chick" (with Rob Schneider and Jason) playing Rob Schneider trapped in her own smokin' bod, but I had no idea she would be this perfect for the role. Seriously, the casting really makes this film come alive, as well as the idyllic scenery and art direction. The difference between making this just some sappy, oversentimental piece of crap and an actual good film is the choices by the actors and director to just make you like them, rather than try to blindly pull at your heartstrings (final scene with the birds flying off aside). I know I'm one to like romantic-type movies, but I really think that this one is something that more of the Bastards would like. Now, if I can just see that trailer again...
