Two female students are researching spooky urban legends when they hear of an old one called "Candyman." He was apparently slave that was tortured to death over 100 years ago. Rumor has it that if you look into a mirror and repeat the name five times he will appear behind you. One of the gals does this and of course conjures up Candyman.

Candyman is a sadistic killer with a hook hand but he doesn't kill the gal who called him up. Instead he kills some other people and frames her. Of course no one believes a thing she says so it's off to the loonie bin with her. She escapes to try and clear her name but things just get worse and worse.

Overall we liked the movie but it wasn't particularly scary. Candyman is just a black dude in a long coat with a metal hook for a hand. He certainly doesn't look to be dead for over 100 years. But it's a good time waster.
